The Kidde Genesis High Fidelity Ceiling Speaker-Strobe combines clear, intelligible audio with bright multi-candela visual notification in a single low-profile ceiling device. The high fidelity speaker reduces distortion where voice evacuation and mass notification clarity matter most, while the field-selectable amber strobe covers high cd settings without swapping hardware.

Built for the commercial installer

UL 1480 (speakers) and UL 1971 (strobes) listed. The 70V speaker line integrates with standard amplified audio distribution panels. Multi-candela selection is done at the device - no panel reprogramming required. White housing with no marking keeps the unit discreet in commercial spaces where "FIRE" marking isn't required by the AHJ. Mounts directly on standard 4-inch square electrical boxes, 1-1/2" to 2-1/8" deep.

Key features

FAQs

What candela settings are available on the high cd model?
The high cd multi-candela model offers a field-selectable extended range beyond the standard 15/30/75/110 cd settings. Candela is selected at the device - no panel reprogramming required.
Does this speaker-strobe require a separate strobe power source?
Yes. The speaker runs on a 70V amplified audio circuit and the strobe requires a separate regulated 16-33 VDC source (filtered or unfiltered). Both circuits terminate at the device.
What box does this mount on?
Standard 4-inch square electrical box, 1-1/2" to 2-1/8" deep. No proprietary mounting hardware required.
Can I synchronize the strobe flash with other Genesis devices?
Yes. The Genesis speaker-strobe is compatible with Genesis sync modules for coordinated strobe flash patterns across notification zones.
What does 'no marking' mean?
The housing has no "FIRE" text printed on it. This is appropriate for applications where the AHJ does not require visible marking on notification appliances, or for mass notification systems where "FIRE" marking would be misleading.
Is this rated for outdoor use?
No. This model is rated for indoor use only (32°F to 120°F, 10-93% non-condensing humidity). Kidde offers the Genesis Outdoor series for exterior installations.
