The GCHFWN-S7VMCH pairs crisp, intelligible voice audio with a high-output strobe in one low-profile ceiling appliance, built to meet NFPA's 520Hz signaling requirement for newly constructed sleeping areas.

Built for the commercial fire installer

High fidelity 520Hz output produces clear voice audio that stays intelligible even in high-ambient-noise spaces, and the appliance is approved for sleeping-room use as part of an end-to-end audio system with a factory-supplied 520Hz tone. Speaker wattage taps (1/4, 1/2, 1, or 2W) and strobe candela (95/115/150/177 cd) are both field-selectable through windows on the front of the device - no need to remove it from the ceiling. The 70V speaker circuit suits longer audio riser runs than a 25V design. The low-profile design sits 30% slimmer than comparable ceiling signals, hinging down for easy access to switches and wiring.

Key features

  • 520Hz High Fidelity audio meets NFPA sleeping-area requirements
  • Field-selectable wattage: 1/4, 1/2, 1, or 2W
  • Field-selectable high-output strobe: 95, 115, 150, or 177 cd
  • 70 VRMS speaker circuit for longer audio riser runs
  • Unmarked cover for applications where FIRE marking isn't required
  • UL 1971, UL 1638, UL 1480 listed for public and private mode

System requirements

Flush mounts to a North American 4-inch square box, 2-1/8 in. deep, or a 960A-4RF round flush box - no extension ring needed. Speakers driven by third-party audio systems are not UL approved for sleeping-room use. Strobe synchronization requires a compatible source (GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, EG1M-RM, or compatible VS Series/booster power supply).

FAQs

Why choose 70V instead of 25V?
70V circuits tolerate more voltage drop over long wire runs, making them the better choice for larger buildings or longer riser distances from the amplifier.
Is this approved for sleeping rooms?
Yes, when used as part of an end-to-end audio system with a factory-supplied 520Hz tone. Speakers driven by third-party audio systems are not UL approved for sleeping-room use.
Can I change the wattage and candela after installation?
Yes. The device hinges down for access to switches - no need to remove it - and settings remain visible through small windows once closed.
