SKU:
KD-GCHFWN-S7VMBH

The Genesis GC High Fidelity ceiling speaker-strobe delivers 520 Hz low-frequency audible output alongside a field-selectable multi-candela blue strobe in a single ceiling-mount appliance. Blue lens and unmarked white housing distinguish this as a mass notification device - separate from fire alarm signaling in facilities that require differentiated alerting per NFPA 72 Chapter 24.

Built for the commercial installer

Flush-mounts to any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box (2-1/8" deep) or 960A-4RF round flush box with no extension ring required. The 70V speaker accepts ¼, ½, 1, or 2 watt taps via field-selectable switches inside the device - no returns to the shop for the wrong wattage model. High cd strobe output (selectable 48, 59, 78, or 80 cd) adjusts on-site to meet spacing requirements without stocking multiple SKUs. UL 464, UL 1638, UL 1971, and ULC-S541 listed.

Key features

  • 520 Hz high fidelity tone: meets NFPA 72 low-frequency signaling requirements for sleeping areas in hotels, dormitories, and residential occupancies
  • Field-selectable multi-candela strobe: 48, 59, 78, or 80 cd output (high cd) set on-site via internal candela switch
  • 70V speaker with selectable wattage: ¼, ½, 1, or 2 watt taps cover a range of coverage areas from a single SKU
  • Low-profile ceiling mount: just 1" depth, 30% slimmer than comparable signals, mounts flush and inconspicuous overhead
  • Low current draw: Genesis patented technology reduces NAC circuit loading, allowing more devices per notification circuit
  • Blue lens, no text marking: purpose-built for mass notification applications distinct from fire alarm signaling

System requirements

Requires a 16-33V DC (or 16-33V FWR) notification appliance circuit from a compatible FACP or NAC power supply. Speaker input requires a 70 VRMS audio source. Synchronization available with compatible Genesis sync modules (GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, EG1M-RM) when multiple devices share a circuit.

What is the 520 Hz high fidelity tone for?
Meets NFPA 72 requirements for low-frequency audible signaling in sleeping areas (hotels, dormitories, residential occupancies). The 520 Hz tone is more effective at waking occupants than traditional higher-frequency signals.
What candela settings are available on this model?
This is the high cd blue lens model with field-selectable output of 48, 59, 78, or 80 cd. Settings are adjusted via an internal candela switch and remain visible through inspection windows on the front of the device after installation.
Can this be used for fire alarm instead of mass notification?
This specific model (blue lens, no text marking) is designed for mass notification applications per NFPA 72 Chapter 24. For fire alarm applications, use the clear or red lens models with appropriate FIRE marking from the same Genesis GC family.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Flush-mounts to any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box, 2-1/8" (54 mm) deep, or a 960A-4RF round flush box. No extension ring or adapter plate required.
Can I synchronize multiple Genesis devices on the same circuit?
Yes. Genesis strobes meet or exceed UL 1971 synchronization requirements when used with a compatible sync source such as the GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, or EG1M-RM.
