SKU:
KD-G4LFRN-H

The Genesis G4LF is a 520 Hz low frequency wall-mount horn built for sleeping area notification per NFPA 72. At 520 Hz, it hits the tonal range proven to wake occupants faster than traditional 3 kHz signals - critical for occupancies where high-frequency devices fall short.

Built for the commercial fire alarm installer

Mounts on a standard 4" square electrical box (2-1/8" deep minimum) with the supplied spacer, or surface-mount with the optional EG4RB box. Two dBA output settings (high and low) let you size the NAC circuit without overshooting. Synchronizes temporal patterns with Genesis-compatible FACPs (VM, VS, FX Series) and sync modules (GSA-CC1S, SIGA-CC2A, EG1M-RM) - no proprietary sync hardware needed beyond what's already on most Kidde panels.

Key features

  • 520 Hz low frequency tone meets NFPA 72 sleeping area notification requirements where standard 3 kHz horns don't cut it
  • Two output settings (high/low dBA) for flexible NAC circuit design without additional attenuation
  • Temporal pattern synchronization with Genesis-compatible FACPs and sync modules - stays within 10 ms indefinitely
  • Low current draw (0.028-0.050A) lets you load more devices per NAC circuit
  • Standard 4" square box mounting with included spacer - no special hardware or adapters
  • UL 464 listed

System requirements

Requires 24 VDC or 24 VFWR power (operates 16-33V). Temporal pattern synchronization requires a compatible FACP or sync module. Indoor use only.

Does this meet NFPA 72 sleeping area notification requirements?
Yes. The 520 Hz tone meets NFPA 72 sleeping area notification requirements. This frequency wakes sleeping occupants more effectively than traditional 3 kHz horns, making it the required choice for sleeping occupancies.
What panel or sync module does this need for temporal synchronization?
The G4LF synchronizes with Genesis-compatible FACPs (VM Series, VS Series, FX Series) and sync modules including the GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, and EG1M-RM. It also works with MIRBPS6A/10A and APS6A/10A booster power supplies.
Can I mix this with standard 3 kHz Genesis horns on the same NAC circuit?
Yes. The G4LF operates on the same 24V NAC circuit as other Genesis appliances. Current draw is 0.028-0.050A depending on output setting and power type. Factor this into your NAC loading calculations.
What box does this mount on?
Standard 4" square electrical box, 2-1/8" deep minimum, using the supplied spacer. For surface mounting where no box is available, use the optional EG4RB red surface mount box (sold separately).
What is the current draw for NAC circuit loading?
High output: 0.050A (filtered DC) / 0.049A (FWR) in temporal mode. Low output: 0.030A (filtered DC) / 0.028A (FWR) in temporal mode.
