SKU:
KD-EG4LFRN

The Kidde Genesis LED EG4LFRN is a 520 Hz low frequency wall mount horn built for sleeping area notification compliance under NFPA 72. It runs on 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR, drops onto existing Genesis wiring, and mounts to standard electrical boxes with the included GRSW universal mounting plate.

Built for the fire alarm installer

The EG4LF series uses the same compact form factor as the full Genesis LED EG4 line, so it integrates into existing Genesis notification appliance circuits without layout changes. Field-configurable dip switches let you set high or low dB output and constant or TC3 temporal signal patterns at the device. UL 464 listed at 520 Hz, ULC-S541 listed, CSFM approved, and carries FDNY COA #6379 and MEA 28-15E approvals.

Key features

  • 520 Hz low frequency tone meets NFPA 72 sleeping area notification requirements
  • Field-selectable output: high (83 dBA) or low (78 dBA) at 10 ft, constant or TC3 temporal
  • Universal mounting plate (GRSW) included - fits 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch square, and 4-inch octagon boxes
  • Genesis LED EG4 form factor - backward compatible with existing Genesis NAC wiring
  • Synchronization support via CC1S/MCC1S signal modules, booster power supplies, and intelligent/conventional panels
  • Red housing, no marking - blank faceplate for applications where "FIRE" marking is not required

System requirements

Connects to any 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR notification appliance circuit. Synchronization via CC1S or MCC1S series signal modules when multiple devices share a circuit. 12-18 AWG field wiring. Indoor dry locations only - operating temperature 32°F to 122°F.

Does this horn meet NFPA 72 sleeping area requirements?
Yes. The 520 Hz low frequency output is specifically designed and UL 464 listed for sleeping area notification per NFPA 72. This frequency is proven more effective at waking occupants than the traditional 3150 Hz tone.
What electrical boxes does it mount to?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch square, and 4-inch octagon boxes using the included GRSW universal mounting plate. For 4-inch octagon boxes, the optional GOCT adapter plate is required.
Can I mix this with existing Genesis notification devices on the same NAC?
Yes. The EG4LF series shares the same wiring and synchronization protocol as the full Genesis LED EG4 line. It integrates into existing Genesis notification appliance circuits without layout changes.
What is the difference between this and the FIRE-marked version?
The EG4LFRN has no text marking on the faceplate. The FIRE-marked variant (EG4LFRF) is stamped with "FIRE" per code requirements in some jurisdictions. Choose based on your local AHJ requirements.
How do I synchronize multiple horns on the same circuit?
Use a CC1S or MCC1S series signal module on the NAC circuit. Kidde intelligent and conventional fire alarm control panels with built-in synchronization also support direct sync without an external module.
