The Kidde K-RLCD-R gives commercial fire alarm installers a remote LCD annunciator that ties back to the FACP over RS-485 without additional controllers. Designed for the R-Series platform, it mounts on a standard 4-inch square electrical box and displays system status on a 4-line, 20-character LCD readable from across a lobby, guard desk, or secondary entrance.

This annunciator runs on 24 VDC from the panel, draws just 61 mA in standby, and communicates over RS-485 with Class B or Class A wiring options up to 4,000 ft. Compatible with Kidde VS and FX Series intelligent fire alarm systems. UL, ULC, and FM listed for code-compliant commercial installations. Wire runs use standard 18-14 AWG twisted pair - nothing proprietary.

No. This is the "without common controls" model. It includes Ack/Silence and Lamp Test only. For Reset, Signal Silence, and Drill buttons, order the K-RLCD-CR variant.
How far can the annunciator be wired from the FACP?
Up to 4,000 ft (1,219 m) using 18-14 AWG twisted pair with a minimum of 6 twists per foot. Both Class B and Class A wiring configurations are supported.

What is the difference between Class A and Class B wiring?
Class B (Style 4/DCLB) uses a single pair of wires from the FACP. Class A (Style 6/DCLA) adds a redundant return path so the annunciator stays online if the data loop is broken at one point. Check local AHJ requirements for your installation.
What does the LCD display show during an alarm event?
The 4-line, 20-character LCD shows event type, zone, and point info from the FACP. In normal operation it reads "SYSTEM NORMAL." Status LEDs (Fire Alarm, Supervisory, Trouble, Ground Fault) illuminate with each event type.
