The K-RLCD mounts to a standard 4-inch square electrical box and gives fire alarm installers remote status visibility on Kidde Commercial EVOLVE, FX64, FX1000, VS1, VS4, and VM panels - without pulling the FACP door open. The 4-line by 20-character backlit LCD displays system status in plain English, while dedicated LEDs confirm Power, Fire Alarm, Supervisory, Ground Fault, and Trouble conditions at a glance.

Built for the commercial fire alarm installer

RS-485 communication supports Class A or Class B wiring with runs up to 4,000 ft. Set the DIP switch address and the annunciator pulls all zone and system data from the panel automatically - no programming required. This is the model without common controls, so there's no Reset, Signal Silence, or Drill button on the faceplate. Ack/Silence and Lamp Test are included. If the job calls for full common controls, look at the K-RLCD-C.

Panel compatibility

What is the difference between the K-RLCD and K-RLCD-C?
The K-RLCD does not include common controls (Reset, Signal Silence, Drill). It has Ack/Silence and Lamp Test only. The K-RLCD-C adds all common control buttons. Both share the same 4x20 backlit LCD display, status LEDs, and RS-485 communication.
Does this annunciator require programming?
No. Set the network address via DIP switches on the back of the unit. The annunciator automatically receives all system status and zone information from the connected FACP - no laptop or software required.
How far can the annunciator be from the panel?
Up to 4,000 ft. (1,219 m) on 18-14 AWG twisted pair with a minimum of 6 twists per foot. Both Class A and Class B RS-485 wiring configurations are supported.
Can I add zone LED annunciation alongside the LCD display?
Yes. Up to two K-RLED24-2 LED zone expanders can be connected, each providing 24 pairs of zone Active/Trouble LEDs (48 zones total). These mount beside the LCD annunciator in an RA-ENC2 or RA-ENC3 enclosure.
What enclosures are available for the R-Series annunciators?
Three options: RA-ENC1 (single position), RA-ENC2 (annunciator plus one expander), RA-ENC3 (annunciator plus two expanders). All 16-gauge welded steel with key lock, available in red or off-white.
Which Kidde fire alarm panels are compatible?
