The KI-ABLT puts 520 Hz low frequency notification on Kidde Intelligent detector circuits - the frequency NFPA 72 requires for sleeping-room applications. It replaces a standard base under any compatible Kidde V-PCOS or Signature/GSA series detector, adding code-compliant audible notification without a separate horn or speaker run.
Built for fire and CO notification compliance
The 520 Hz output meets the low frequency sounder requirement for sleeping areas where standard 3 kHz sounders don't cut it. The base supports TC3 (temporal three) for fire and TC4 (temporal four) for CO when paired with the FX-T3T4 tone generator module - giving you distinct, code-compliant tone patterns for fire and carbon monoxide from the same device. Two volume settings (high and low) let you tune output to room size. UL listed and CSFM approved.
Key features
- 520 Hz ±10% output: meets NFPA 72 low frequency requirement for sleeping-room notification
- TC3/TC4 tone separation: distinct temporal patterns for fire and CO when paired with FX-T3T4 tone generator
- Drop-in replacement: installs on standard 4 in. square or 3-1/2 in. octagonal boxes - same wiring, same mounting
- Two volume settings: high (87 dBA) and low (83 dBA) nominal output at 10 ft for flexibility across room sizes
- Wide detector compatibility: works with Kidde V-PCOS and Signature/GSA intelligent detector families
- Indoor rated: 32 to 120°F operating range, 0-93% RH noncondensing
System requirements
Requires a compatible Kidde intelligent fire alarm control panel and SLC loop. For TC3/TC4 tone separation (distinct fire vs. CO patterns), add the FX-T3T4 tone generator module. Without the tone generator, the base defaults to steady or TC3 fire tone only. Accepts 12-18 AWG wiring on screw terminals. Mounts on 4 in. square (2-1/8 in. deep), 3-1/2 in. octagonal (2-1/8 in. deep), or AB4G-SB surface box.
