The KI-ABDT is an audible sounder base for the Kidde Intelligent Series, adding a local alarm signal directly at the detector without a separate horn or speaker circuit.

The base mounts under any compatible intelligent detector and shares the detector's address, so it consumes no extra SLC address and no extra programming step beyond the base install. Output tone (steady or temporal) and volume (low or high dBA) are field-configurable on the board, so one part number covers most jobs without special-ordering a variant.

Does the KI-ABDT need its own address?
No. It shares the address of the intelligent detector head installed on top of it, so no extra SLC address is consumed.
Can the tone and volume be changed in the field?
Yes. Cut jumpers on the base board to set steady vs. temporal output and low vs. high dBA volume. Default is high dBA, temporal.
What detectors does the KI-ABDT work with?
Kidde Intelligent Series smoke, heat, and multisensor detector heads compatible with the B4U-family base footprint.
