SKU:
KD-276A-REL

The Kidde 276A-REL is a single-action manual release station built for fire suppression system activation. Lift the cover, pull the handle, and the station latches in the activated position until manually reset with the included key. Break glass operation provides tamper evidence and prevents accidental discharge - critical on release circuits where a false pull means an expensive clean agent dump.

Built for the commercial installer

Same rugged LEXAN 940 construction as the Kidde 276B fire alarm series, purpose-built for suppression release applications. The cream finish and "MANUAL RELEASE" labeling clearly differentiate it from fire alarm stations per code requirements. Mounts semi-flush on a standard 4" square box or surface with the optional 276B-RSB back box - same prep as any pull station already on the job.

Key features

  • Single-action operation: lift cover, pull handle - latches until reset with the included 276-K1 key
  • Break glass activation provides tamper evidence and prevents accidental system discharge
  • LEXAN 940 construction handles high-traffic commercial environments without cracking or fading
  • Surface or semi-flush mounting on standard 4" square electrical boxes (min depth 2-1/4")
  • UL and ULC listed for code-compliant suppression release installations
  • Screw terminal field connections for fast, reliable wiring to the releasing panel

System requirements

Connects to the fire suppression panel's release circuit via screw terminals. Compatible with conventional releasing panels that accept dry contact inputs. For semi-flush mounting, use a standard North-American 4" square box with single gang plaster cover (minimum depth 2-1/4" / 57mm). For surface mounting, order the 276B-RSB surface back box separately.

What is the difference between the 276A-REL and the 276B?
The 276A-REL is a manual release station (cream finish) for suppression system activation. The 276B is a fire alarm pull station (red finish). Same housing and mechanism, different application and color coding.
How do I reset the station after activation?
Open the station with the included 276-K1 key, restore the toggle switch to its normal position, replace the break glass rod (Cat. No. 276-GLR), and reclose the station.
What mounting box does the 276A-REL require?
For semi-flush mounting, use a standard North-American 4" square box with a single gang plaster cover (minimum depth 2-1/4" / 57mm). For surface mounting, use the 276B-RSB surface back box (ordered separately).
Is this compatible with my releasing panel?
The 276A-REL provides dry contact output via screw terminals. It is compatible with any conventional releasing panel that accepts normally open or normally closed dry contact inputs.
Where can I get replacement break glass rods?
Order Cat. No. 276-GLR replacement glass rods through your SS&Si dealer account.
