The Kidde Genesis GCSVRA-A is a ceiling-mount mass notification speaker/strobe that combines audible and visual alerting in a single low-profile device. Red housing with amber lens and ALERT marking keeps it instantly distinguishable from fire alarm devices on the same facility - a code requirement for any building running both life safety and mass notification circuits.
Built for the commercial installer
Part of the Genesis GC Series, this speaker/strobe mounts flush to any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box (2-1/8" deep) with no extension ring or trim plate required. Field-configurable wattage taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) and selectable candela output let you tune sound pressure and strobe intensity on-site without swapping hardware. Candela and wattage settings stay visible through small windows on the device face and lock to prevent unauthorized changes.
Key features
- Mass notification differentiation: ALERT marking and amber lens meet code requirements for visual distinction from fire alarm signaling devices
- Field-configurable output: selectable wattage taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) and multi-candela strobe settings without removing the device from the ceiling
- Low-profile Genesis design: projects just 1" from the ceiling surface - roughly 30% slimmer than comparable ceiling notification appliances
- Standard box mounting: flush mount to 4" square electrical box, 2-1/8" deep, with no extension ring or trim plate
- Precision strobe synchronization: meets UL synchronization requirements when paired with Genesis-compatible sync modules
- UL/ULC listed: UL 1638, UL 1971, UL 1480, ULC-S541 for public and private mode mass notification applications
System requirements
Connects to a listed fire alarm control panel or mass notification system via 25 VRMS or 70 VRMS speaker circuit. Wire with #18 to #12 AWG conductors to polarized screw terminals. Compatible synchronization sources include EG1M-RM, GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, and SIGA-CC2A modules.
