The Kidde Genesis LED EGC Series GCVRA-A is a ceiling-mount mass notification strobe for commercial and institutional spaces where visual ALERT signaling is required alongside or separate from fire alarm notification. The amber lens and red ALERT-marked housing distinguish mass notification from fire alarm signaling, helping occupants differentiate between emergency types at a glance.
Built for the commercial installer
The EGC Series mounts to any standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, or 4-inch square electrical box using the included GP10 room side wiring plate. The universal wiring plate supports pre-installation and pre-wiring before the device arrives on site, and the included diagnostics check bar lets you verify continuity before snapping the unit into place. LED technology draws significantly less current than legacy Xenon strobes, allowing more devices per NAC circuit, longer wire runs, and fewer booster power supplies. UL 1971 listed. ULC-S526. FM Approved.
Key features
- Mass notification visual signaling: amber lens with ALERT marking differentiates from fire alarm strobes on shared campuses and facilities
- Field-selectable candela output: set to 15, 30, 75, or 115 cd via slide switch under the cover without removing the device from the ceiling
- Ultra-low current draw: LED technology pulls just 35 mA (DC) or 45 mA (VFWR), fitting more devices per circuit and reducing booster requirements
- Universal mounting: fits 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes with optional EGCTR/EGCTW trim plates for oversized openings
- Backward compatible: mix with legacy Xenon Genesis strobes on the same NAC circuit for phased upgrades without full system replacement
- Diagnostics port: under-cover test points for NAC circuit testing while mounted
System requirements
Operates on 16 to 33 VDC or 16 to 33 VFWR notification appliance circuits. Synchronizes with Kidde CC Series Signal Modules, Booster and Auxiliary Power Supplies, and Intelligent and Conventional Control Panels. Requires GP10 room side wiring plate (included). Electrical boxes must be at least 1-1/2 in. (3.81 cm) deep.
