SKU:
KD-GCVWN-G

The Kidde Genesis GCVWN-G is a ceiling-mount mass notification strobe built for ECS/MNS (Emergency Communication System / Mass Notification System) deployments. Genesis patented low-current technology reduces NAC circuit loading, letting you put more devices on a single circuit without oversizing power supplies or pulling extra wire runs.

Built for the commercial installer

Mounts to standard 4-inch square or 3-1/2"/4" octagonal electrical boxes with no adapter plates or special hardware. Candela output is field-selectable (15, 30, 75, or 95 cd) via DIP switch, so one SKU covers multiple space requirements without returns or re-orders. White housing with green lens and no "FIRE" marking keeps the device compliant for non-fire mass notification applications. UL and ULC listed for code-compliant installations in the US and Canada. Rated for 16-33 VDC regulated input.

Key features

  • Genesis low-current technology reduces NAC circuit loading - more devices per circuit, fewer power supplies on the job
  • Selectable candela output: 15, 30, 75, or 95 cd via DIP switch - configure on site, no model swaps
  • Standard electrical box mounting - fits 4" square, 3-1/2" or 4" octagonal boxes
  • Green lens, no marking - purpose-built for ECS/MNS mass notification, distinct from fire alarm devices
  • Built-in synchronization with Genesis auto-sync protocol for multi-device installations, no external module needed
  • UL and ULC listed for US and Canadian code compliance

System requirements

Requires a regulated 16-33 VDC NAC circuit from a compatible FACP or mass notification system. Wire size 12-18 AWG. For synchronized flash across multiple strobes, connect Genesis devices on the same NAC circuit - synchronization is built in with no external sync module required.

What is the difference between this and a fire alarm strobe?
No "FIRE" marking and a green lens designate this for ECS/MNS mass notification (alert, evacuate, lockdown). Fire alarm strobes use "FIRE" marking with clear or red lenses. Electrically identical - the difference is labeling and lens color.
How many strobes can I run on one NAC circuit?
Genesis low-current technology allows more devices per circuit than standard strobes. Count depends on NAC capacity and candela setting. Lower candela draws less current, allowing more per run. See the spec sheet current draw table.
Do I need a sync module for multi-strobe installations?
No. Genesis strobes include built-in synchronization. All Genesis devices on the same NAC circuit sync automatically without an external module.
What electrical box does this mount to?
Standard 4-inch square electrical box, 3-1/2" octagonal, or 4" octagonal box. No adapter plates or special mounting hardware required.
Can I change the candela output after installation?
Yes. Candela is selectable via a DIP switch on the device (15, 30, 75, or 95 cd). Reconfigure in the field without swapping the unit.
