The Kidde Genesis GCVWA-G is a ceiling-mount strobe built for mass notification and emergency communication systems. White housing with a green lens and red ALERT marking, it delivers a visual signal that's immediately distinct from fire alarm notification - exactly what a facility needs when running both fire and mass notification on the same infrastructure.
Built for the commercial installer
At just 1.6 inches from the ceiling, the Genesis profile stays out of the way while meeting UL 1971 and UL 1638 light distribution requirements with FullLight strobe technology. Mounts flush to any standard North American 4-inch square electrical box (2-1/8" deep) with no extension ring or trim plate. Twist-open design gives access to the mounting screws and field-selectable candela switch, then locks in place with no visible hardware. Screw terminals accept #18 to #12 AWG for long runs or existing wiring.
Key features
- Green lens with ALERT marking: provides distinct visual notification for mass notification, separate from fire alarm signaling on the same system
- Selectable candela output: four field-configurable settings (A, B, C, D) adjustable at the device without removal
- Low-profile ceiling mount: protrudes just 1.6" (41 mm) from the ceiling
- Standard 4" box mounting: flush-mounts to North American 4" square electrical box, 2-1/8" deep, no extension ring required
- FullLight strobe technology: smooth, even light distribution across the coverage area with no specular hot spots
- Synchronization-ready: exceeds UL 1971 sync requirements when paired with a compatible source (G1M-RM, SIGA-CC series, BPS/APS panels)
System requirements
Connects to a Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) from the FACP or auxiliary power supply. Operates on regulated 16-33 VDC or unfiltered 16-33 VFWR. For synchronized flash patterns across multiple devices, add a compatible sync source such as the G1M-RM, SIGA-CC1S, or BPS/APS series power supply.
