The Kidde Genesis LED WG4 speaker/strobe brings outdoor-rated notification to commercial fire alarm and mass notification systems without a dedicated outdoor enclosure. Dual-voltage speaker operation (25V or 70V selectable) and four selectable candela settings let you match the appliance to the circuit and the space on one trip - no swapping devices when the AHJ or engineer changes the spec.

Built for the commercial installer

UL 1971 listed for indoor use and UL 1638 listed for outdoor applications, the WG4 mounts to standard 4-inch square electrical boxes or the Kidde 74347U outdoor surface box. A full-backplane sealing gasket handles wet and harsh environments from -31°F to 151°F. Room-side wiring on #12-#18 AWG terminals means the appliance goes on after the box is wired, not before. All switch settings (candela, wattage, voltage) are visible through a sealed viewport display after installation for quick verification without pulling the device.

Connects to a supervised amplifier signal circuit (25.2V or 70.7V RMS) for speaker operation and a supervised notification appliance circuit (20-24 VDC) for strobe operation on the FACP or NAC power supply. Compatible with Kidde VM and VS Series life safety systems, FX Series fire alarm control panels, and Genesis synchronization modules (GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, EG1M-RM).

What candela settings are available on the Genesis WG4 speaker/strobe?

Standard output with clear lens offers four selectable settings: 15, 29, 70, or 87 cd indoor (UL 1971) and 6, 12, 28, or 35 cd outdoor (UL 1638). Settings are changed via the S2 switch on the device without removing it from the wall.

Does the Genesis WG4 work outdoors?

Yes. UL 1638 listed for outdoor use and rated for wet environments from -31°F to 151°F. For outdoor installations, mount to the Kidde 74347U outdoor surface box or a standard 4" square box with the full-backplane gasket sealed.

What fire alarm panels is the WG4 compatible with?

Compatible with Kidde VM/VS Series and FX Series fire alarm panels. Sync via Genesis modules: GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, EG1M-RM. Also works with MIRBPS6A, APS6A, APS10A booster supplies.

Can the speaker wattage and voltage be adjusted in the field?

Yes. Four taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) via S1 switch. Voltage selectable between 25V and 70V via S3 (default 70V). Switch positions visible through a sealed viewport display after installation.

What electrical box does the WG4 require?

Standard 4" square by 1-1/2" deep box. For outdoor/wet locations, use Kidde 74347U surface box. Optional trim skirts (WG4WTS white, WG4RTS red) available; with trim skirt, box must be 4" square by 2-1/8" deep.
