The Genesis WG4 Speaker/Strobe handles indoor and outdoor notification from a single low-profile appliance. Dual-voltage speaker (25V/70V selectable) paired with a four-position selectable candela strobe means one SKU covers multiple coverage scenarios without stocking separate models for every job.

Built for the fire alarm installer

UL 1971 listed for indoor wall or ceiling applications and UL 1638 listed for outdoor wet locations. Mounts to standard 4-inch square electrical boxes or the Kidde 74347U surface mount box for wet environments. All wiring is room-side on 12-18 AWG, so there is no need to pull the appliance off the wall to terminate conductors. Compatible with Genesis synchronization protocols through VM, VS, and FX Series FACPs or standalone sync modules like the GSA-CC1S and SIGA-CC2A.

System requirements

Requires a supervised amplifier signal circuit (25.2V or 70.7V RMS) for the speaker and a supervised notification appliance circuit (20-24 VDC or FWR) for the strobe. Compatible with Kidde VM and VS Series life safety systems, FX Series fire alarm control panels, and Genesis sync modules (GSA-CC1S, GSA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, GSA-MCC2A, EG1M-RM).

Does this work outdoors?
Yes. The Genesis WG4 is UL 1638 listed for outdoor wet locations. For outdoor mounting, use the Kidde 74347U surface mount box. Operating range is -31°F to 151°F (-35°C to 66°C) at 0-95% noncondensing humidity.
What candela settings are available?
Four field-selectable positions via switch S2. Indoor (UL 1971): 87, 70, 29, or 15 cd with clear lens. Outdoor (UL 1638): 35, 28, 12, or 6 cd. Settings are viewable through a sealed viewport after installation.
What speaker voltage and wattage options does it support?
Dual-voltage: 25V or 70V RMS, selectable via switch S3. Four wattage taps: 1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, or 2W via switch S1. Maximum output at 2W is 90.0 dBA (25V) or 89.7 dBA (70V).
What electrical box does it mount to?
Standard 4-inch square by 1-1/2-inch deep box without a trim skirt, or 4-inch square by 2-1/8-inch deep with the optional WG4RTS (red) trim skirt. For outdoor/wet locations, use the Kidde 74347U surface mount box.
