The SD-2W is a slim, two-wire conventional duct smoke detector that drops into ductwork under 2 inches deep, keeping HVAC smoke detection simple on jobs that don't need a separate controller.
Built for the commercial fire installer
Differential sensing keeps the detector immune to the gradual dust and humidity buildup that causes false alarms on other duct detectors, while a rapid change like real smoke still triggers reliably. Removable dust filters and conformally coated circuit boards keep contaminants off the electronics, and the assembly comes apart and snaps back together in seconds for cleaning. A single Form C auxiliary relay drives ancillary equipment like HVAC fan shutdown directly off the detector.
Key features
- Under 2 in deep - fits tight duct spaces
- Differential sensing resists sensitivity drift from dust and humidity
- Conformally coated circuit boards and removable dust filters for long service life
- Two-wire conventional wiring - drops onto a standard initiating device circuit
- One Form C auxiliary relay for HVAC shutdown or ancillary equipment
- Compatible with EC-LED remote alarm indicators and SD-TRM/SD-TRK remote test stations
System requirements
Air velocity rating 100 to 4,000 ft/min. Operates at 16 to 30 Vdc off the initiating device circuit. Order an air sampling tube separately to match duct size (exhaust tube included).
