SKU:
KD-SD-CT

The Kidde SD-CT is the controller module for the SuperDuct four-wire duct smoke detector system, wired via terminal block connections. It accepts 24 VDC, 24 VAC, 120 VAC, or 220/240 VAC input, so it drops into virtually any commercial HVAC monitoring setup without a separate power supply conversion.

Built for the commercial installer

Each controller supports up to two SuperDuct detectors and provides one alarm relay, two 10A Form C auxiliary relays, and one supervision relay for FACP integration and fan shutdown. Interconnect up to 15 controllers to coordinate multi-zone HVAC shutdown from a single alarm event. UL Listed (268A), ULC, CSFM, and FM approved.

Key features

  • Multi-voltage input: 24 VDC, 24 VAC, 120 VAC, or 220/240 VAC - no external transformer needed for most installs
  • Supports two detectors per controller for flexible duct monitoring coverage
  • Two 10A Form C auxiliary relays for direct fan shutdown or damper control without an intermediary relay
  • Interconnect up to 15 controllers for coordinated multi-zone HVAC shutdown
  • Clear polycarbonate cover with visible Power, Trouble, and Alarm LEDs for at-a-glance status
  • Terminal block connections for standard wire-in installation (#14-#22 AWG)

System requirements

Pairs with Kidde SuperDuct four-wire duct smoke detectors (SD series). Mounts independently or inside the duct detector housing. Requires connection to a compatible FACP via the alarm and supervision relay contacts.

What is the difference between the SD-CT and SD-CJ?
The SD-CT uses terminal block connections for field wiring, while the SD-CJ uses RJ45 connectors. Both controllers support the same SuperDuct detectors and relay configurations. Choose based on your site's wiring preference.
How many detectors can one SD-CT support?
Up to two SuperDuct four-wire duct smoke detectors per controller.
Can I interconnect multiple controllers for multi-zone shutdown?
Yes. Up to 15 SD-CT controllers can be interconnected for coordinated fan shutdown across multiple HVAC zones from a single alarm event.
What voltages does the SD-CT accept?
Multi-voltage: 24 VDC, 24 VAC (50/60 Hz), 120 VAC (50/60 Hz), or 220/240 VAC (50/60 Hz). No external power conversion required for most commercial installs.
Is the SD-CT UL Listed for duct smoke detection?
Yes. UL Listed under S911 (UL 268A), plus ULC, CSFM, FM, and MEA approvals.
