The GSA-UM is a Signature Series intelligent module that takes on whatever interface duty a job calls for, from pull stations to waterflow switches to a dry relay contact, all from the same stocked part. The installer selects the function by downloading one of 15 personality codes from the loop controller, so the field decision doesn't require carrying a dozen different module types on the truck.
Built for the commercial fire installer
Mounted to a standard North American 2-gang box, the GSA-UM connects two Class B or one Class A initiating device circuit, a Class A/B notification appliance circuit, a 2-wire smoke detector circuit, or a Form C dry relay contact, depending on the code selected. Kidde's ground fault detection pinpoints the specific module with the wiring fault, cutting troubleshooting time on a job with dozens of modules on the loop. Compatible with Kidde VM and VS Series control panels.
Key features
- 15 selectable personality codes cover IDC, NAC, 2-wire smoke, and relay applications from one part number
- Ground fault detection by address pinpoints the exact module with the fault, not just the loop
- Electronic addressing: no dials or switches, address is downloaded from the loop controller or SIGA-PRO tool
- Stand-alone operation: continues making alarm decisions if loop controller polling stops
- No twisted or shielded wire required on retrofit jobs from conventional to Signature Series
System requirements
Requires a Kidde Signature Series loop controller on VM or VS Series control panels. Mounts to a North American 2-1/2" deep 2-gang box or a 4" square box with a 2-gang cover and GSA-MP mounting plate.
