SKU:
KD-EG4LFWN

The Kidde Genesis LED EG4LFWN is a low frequency wall-mount horn that delivers a 520 Hz square wave tone for sleeping area notification per NFPA 72 requirements. It drops onto standard 4-inch square or single-gang electrical boxes and runs on 12V DC, 24V DC, or 12V FWR - pulling power from whatever your FACP NAC circuit already provides.

Built for the commercial fire alarm installer

UL 464 and ULC-S525 listed for U.S. and Canadian installations. The 520 Hz low frequency tone is the code-required frequency for hotel rooms, dormitories, apartment hallways, and any sleeping area where standard 3100 Hz horns don't meet occupant notification requirements. Configurable sound output lets you dial in the dB level for the space without oversizing the NAC circuit. White housing with no FIRE marking keeps the look clean in hospitality and commercial interiors where the AHJ allows unmarked devices.

Key features

  • 520 Hz low frequency tone: meets NFPA 72 sleeping area notification requirements for hotels, dorms, and apartments
  • Multi-voltage operation: 12V DC, 24V DC, or 12V FWR - runs off the existing NAC circuit with no additional power supply
  • Genesis Signal Master compatible: synchronizes temporal Code 3 pattern across all devices on the circuit
  • Standard electrical box mounting: fits 4-inch square, single-gang, and double-gang boxes with no proprietary backbox
  • White housing, no FIRE marking: clean appearance for spaces where code allows unmarked notification devices
  • UL 464 and ULC-S525 listed: approved for commercial fire alarm installations in the U.S. and Canada

System requirements

Connects to any FACP with a standard NAC circuit providing 12V DC, 24V DC, or 12V FWR. Synchronization requires a Genesis Signal Master on the circuit. Indoor use only.

Why does this horn use 520 Hz instead of the standard 3100 Hz?
NFPA 72 requires low frequency 520 Hz signaling in sleeping areas (hotel rooms, dormitories, apartments) because research shows the lower frequency is significantly more effective at waking sleeping occupants than the traditional 3100 Hz tone.
Does this horn work with my existing fire alarm panel?
Yes. The EG4LFWN connects to any FACP NAC circuit that provides 12V DC, 24V DC, or 12V FWR. No special modules or programming needed beyond standard notification appliance circuit wiring.
Can I synchronize this horn with other Genesis notification devices?
Yes. A Genesis Signal Master on the NAC circuit synchronizes the temporal Code 3 pattern across all Genesis devices, ensuring they fire in unison as required by code.
What is the difference between the F and N model variants?
F variants have FIRE printed on the housing. N variants have no marking. Both are functionally identical. Choose based on your local AHJ requirements and the space aesthetics.
What electrical box does this horn mount to?
Standard 4-inch square box, single-gang box, or double-gang box. No proprietary backbox required.
