The Kidde Genesis LED EG4LF drops 520 Hz low-frequency notification into commercial sleeping areas - hotels, dorms, assisted living - where NFPA 72 mandates the low-frequency tone to wake occupants. LED strobe technology draws significantly less current than legacy Xenon strobes, so you fit more devices on each NAC circuit and spend less time calculating power supply loads.

Built for the commercial fire installer

UL 464 and UL 1971 listed. Field-selectable candela (15/30/75/110 cd) and sound output (high/low) mean one SKU covers a range of room sizes without reordering. The GRSW room-side wiring plate (included) lets you pre-wire, verify continuity, and install the device later - no return trips to close out the rough-in.

Does this horn-strobe meet NFPA 72 for sleeping areas?
Yes. The 520 Hz low-frequency tone meets NFPA 72 Chapter 18 requirements for audible notification in sleeping areas, including hotels, dormitories, and assisted living facilities. Standard 3 kHz horns do not satisfy this requirement.
How many devices fit on one NAC circuit?
Depends on panel and power supply capacity. LED strobes draw less than Xenon. At 110 cd DC, the EG4LFVWF draws 159 mA (high) or 145 mA (low). See spec sheet current draw tables to size your circuit.
Can I mix this with standard-frequency Genesis LED devices on the same NAC?
Yes. Low-frequency and standard-frequency Genesis LED devices can share the same synchronized NAC circuit. The sync protocol handles both types, and each device outputs its own frequency independently.
What boxes does this mount on?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, and 4-inch square boxes. For 4-inch octagon boxes, use the GOCT adapter plate (ordered separately). The included GRSW wiring plate fits all supported box types.
What synchronization source do I need?
CC1S or MCC1S Series Signal Modules, compatible Kidde Booster or Auxiliary Power Supplies, or panels with built-in Genesis LED sync. All devices on a circuit must share a common sync source.
Can I use the room-side wiring plate for pre-wiring?
Yes. The included GRSW plate mounts to the backbox and accepts 12-18 AWG wiring. Complete and test wiring before the device arrives, then snap the horn-strobe onto the plate to finish the install.
