The Kidde Genesis G4 Series EG4SRF is a wall-mount fire alarm speaker that delivers clear, intelligible audio across commercial spaces while barely adding an inch to the wall profile. Field-selectable wattage taps (1/4, 1/2, 1, or 2 watt) let you dial in output without removing the device - set it during install, adjust it after final inspection, no callbacks.

Built for the commercial fire installer

The sealed-back 4-inch mylar cone produces 80 to 89 dBA (UL 1480 rated at 10 ft) depending on wattage tap, with a frequency response of 400 to 4,000 Hz optimized for voice intelligibility. Available for 25 VRMS or 70 VRMS audio circuits, both with a built-in DC blocking capacitor for electrical supervision. Red housing with FIRE marking and room-side wiring plate included. UL and ULC listed (File Number S2813), MEA and CSFM approved.

System requirements

Connects to a listed fire alarm control panel (FACP) supervised amplifier signal circuit (25 VRMS or 70 VRMS). Optional EG4RB red surface mount box available for installations without a recessed electrical box. Compatible with the EG1M-RM sync module for synchronized audio distribution.

What electrical box does this speaker fit?
Fits standard North-American 4" square electrical boxes, 2-1/8" (54 mm) deep. Optional EG4RB red surface mount box available when no recessed box is present.
Can I change the wattage tap after installation?
Yes. The wattage setting is visible through a window on the bottom of the device and adjustable by sliding the switch. No need to remove the speaker from the wall.
Does this speaker work on 25V and 70V circuits?
Models are available for both 25 VRMS and 70 VRMS audio circuits. Verify the correct model matches your FACP's supervised amplifier output before ordering.
Is the audio circuit supervised?
Yes. All Genesis G4 speakers include a built-in DC blocking capacitor for electrical supervision of the audio distribution circuit. No external capacitor needed.
What is the UL-rated sound output?
UL 1480 rated at 10 ft: 80 dBA at 1/4W, 83 dBA at 1/2W, 86 dBA at 1W, 89 dBA at 2W (standard frequency, 25 VRMS models).
What sync module works with this speaker?
