The Kidde Genesis LED EG4 Speaker/Strobe combines a high-fidelity speaker with a field-selectable LED strobe in a single wall-mount package, cutting your notification appliance count and wire runs in half. Built for commercial fire alarm systems on regulated 24 VDC, it mounts on any standard 4-inch square electrical box and ships with the room-side wiring plate (GP10) so rough-in wiring stays accessible after trim-out.
Built for the commercial fire alarm installer
The EG4 Series uses LED strobe technology for lower current draw and longer service life compared to xenon-based appliances. Four candela settings (15, 30, 75, 110 cd) and four speaker wattage taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W) are field-selectable without tools, so one SKU covers multiple AHJ requirements and NAC circuit loading scenarios. Audio output runs on 25V or 70.7V RMS, also field-selectable. UL 1971 and UL 1480 listed. ULC-S526 and ULC-S525 listed for Canadian installations.
Key features
- Single-appliance coverage: speaker and strobe in one device reduces box count and conduit runs on the job
- Field-selectable candela (15/30/75/110 cd): adjust strobe intensity to match ADA and NFPA 72 spacing requirements without swapping hardware
- Field-selectable wattage (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W): dial in NAC circuit loading without returning to the truck
- LED strobe technology: lower current draw per candela setting, longer lifespan, no xenon tube replacements
- Genesis synchronization: all strobes on the circuit flash in unison per NFPA 72 and UL 1971 requirements
- Room-side wiring plate (GP10) included: access field wiring from the front after the device is trimmed out
System requirements
