LM-R68-XNA

The Luminys R68-XNA is the top of the R6 Extreme line -- a 128-channel NVR built for enterprise campuses, logistics hubs, and multi-building deployments that need maximum throughput and full-stack AI analytics in a single 2U box. It records up to 32MP resolution at 1400 Mbps (AI off) and runs iMD, face recognition, VCA, LPR, and Video Metadata at the recorder -- no separate analytics server on the BOM.

Built for the commercial installer

Eight SATA bays with drawer-style hot-swap handles let you add or replace drives live, and RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 give you the redundancy level the job requires. Dual NIC at 2500 Mbps handles bandwidth-heavy multi-camera segments without a switch upgrade. LumiSearch+ re-identifies persons by body shape and clothing color across all connected LumiSearch-enabled cameras. NDAA compliant and FCC certified for government and commercial projects with federal supply chain requirements.

Key features

  • 128-channel, 32MP recording: up to 1400 Mbps incoming bandwidth (AI off), 700 Mbps with AI analytics active
  • LumiSearch+ on 64 channels: AI-powered person re-identification by body shape and clothing color across any LumiSearch-enabled camera
  • Full analytics by recorder: iMD, face recognition (up to 300,000 pictures across 40 libraries), VCA, LPR (up to 20,000 plate numbers), and Video Metadata -- no additional server required
  • Up to 160TB internal storage: 8 SATA bays + 1 eSATA, up to 20TB per drive, RAID 0/1/5/6/10, hot-swap drawer design for live drive replacement
  • Dual NIC (10/100/1000/2500 Mbps): two independent network paths for traffic segmentation or redundancy
  • 4x HDMI + 2x VGA simultaneous outputs: HDMI 3 drives 8K (7680x4320) displays; all four HDMI ports run simultaneously
  • NDAA compliant, FCC certified

System requirements

Connects to ONVIF-compatible IP cameras over standard Ethernet. LumiSearch+ requires camera-side support -- confirm compatibility with your Luminys camera model before spec-ing. LPR requires an LPR-capable camera. HDDs sold separately (up to 20TB per bay, 8 bays). Remote monitoring via LumiViewer desktop app or LumiViewer Mobile.

What is the maximum recording bandwidth of the R68-XNA?
1400 Mbps incoming/recording with AI analytics disabled. With AI active, incoming/recording drops to 700 Mbps. Outgoing bandwidth is 1024 Mbps (AI off) or 512 Mbps (AI on). Size your network switch and uplinks accordingly.
Does the R68-XNA support RAID and hot-swappable drives?
Yes. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 across its 8 SATA bays. The drawer HDD bay design allows hot-swap drive replacement without powering down the recorder -- critical for always-on installations.
Is the R68-XNA NDAA compliant?
Yes. The R68-XNA is NDAA compliant and FCC certified, making it suitable for government, education, and commercial projects with federal supply chain requirements.
How much total storage can the R68-XNA support?
Up to 160TB across 8 internal SATA bays (up to 20TB per drive). One eSATA port is also available for external expansion. HDDs are not included.
Does this NVR need a separate analytics server for face recognition and VCA?
No. The R68-XNA runs iMD, face recognition, VCA, LPR, and Video Metadata at the recorder -- no separate analytics server required. Face recognition supports up to 300,000 pictures across 40 libraries. LPR supports up to 20,000 plate numbers.
What cameras are required for LumiSearch+?
LumiSearch+ requires camera-side support on both the camera and NVR. Any LumiSearch-compatible Luminys camera connected to the R68-XNA can use it. Non-LumiSearch cameras still record and can use NVR-side VCA and iMD analytics.
How many video outputs does the R68-XNA have and can it drive 8K displays?
Four HDMI outputs and two VGA outputs. HDMI 3 supports up to 8K (7680x4320). HDMI 1 and 2 support up to 4K (3840x2160). HDMI 4 supports up to 1080p. All four HDMI ports and both VGA ports can run simultaneously.
