The Omada SG2218 is an 18-port Gigabit Smart switch with 16 RJ45 ports and two SFP slots for a rack that needs VLANs and routing without a managed-switch price. It is fanless, so it stays quiet in a wiring closet or an office rack, and it adopts into the same Omada site as the gateway and APs.

Built for tidy racks and segmented networks

Use 802.1Q VLANs to separate cameras, voice and guest traffic, route between them with static routes and the built-in DHCP server, and lock ports down with 802.1X and ACLs. The two SFP slots take fiber uplinks to the core or another building. A 1U steel case with brackets included mounts in a standard 19-inch rack, with feet in the box for a shelf.

Key features

  • 16 Gigabit RJ45 ports and 2 SFP slots: for endpoints, NVRs and fiber uplinks
  • VLANs, static routing and ACLs: up to 4K VLAN groups and 32 IPv4/IPv6 static routes
  • Fanless 1U steel case: silent in an office rack, mounting brackets included
  • Low draw: 12.2 W max at 110V
  • Omada management: zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the cloud controller

System requirements

Powered from 100-240V AC with the included power cord. This switch has no PoE output. Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based Controller (firmware 5.15.22 or later), Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller (5.15.20 or later); zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

Does the SG2218 supply PoE?
No. It has no PoE output. For powered cameras or APs use a PoE model such as the SG2218P.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface and CLI. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
Can it route between VLANs?
Yes. It has 32 IPv4/IPv6 static routes and a DHCP server, so it can route between camera, voice and data VLANs without a separate router for small sites.
Does it come with rack ears?
Yes. Mounting brackets and screws are included for a 19-inch rack, with mounting feet for a shelf.
Does it have a fan?
No. It is fanless, so it is silent in an office rack.
