The Omada SG2005P-PD is a 5-port Gigabit Smart switch that runs off a single PoE++ feed, so you can put cameras and access points out at the pole or the building corner without pulling AC power. It takes PoE in on port 5 and passes PoE+ out on four ports, with an IP66 weatherproof enclosure.

Built for outdoor camera and AP runs

PoE passthrough doubles the source-to-device distance from 100 m to 200 m at Gigabit speed, which covers long camera runs. The output budget depends on the PoE source: up to 64 W from an 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) feed, 44 W from Type 3 (60 W), 19 W from 802.3at and 6 W from 802.3af. The enclosure is dustproof, waterproof and UV-resistant, rated for -40°F to 140°F, and mounts to a wall or pole with the included kit. VLANs, ACLs, QoS and static routing are available when the site needs segmentation.

Key features

  • PoE++ in, 4 PoE+ out: one 802.3af/at/bt feed on port 5 powers the switch and the devices on ports 1 to 4
  • Up to 64 W of output: when fed from an 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) source; the budget scales down with the input
  • IP66 weatherproof case: dustproof, waterproof and UV-resistant, -40°F to 140°F operating range
  • Wall or pole mount: mounting bracket, pole strap, anchors and screws included
  • Perpetual PoE and Fast PoE: powered devices stay up through a switch reboot and come up early on a cold start
  • Omada cloud management: zero-touch provisioning and batch firmware upgrades through the cloud controller

System requirements

Powered only by PoE in on port 5 (802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt); there is no AC adapter. Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based Controller (firmware 5.15.22 or later), Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller (5.15.20 or later); zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

How is the SG2005P-PD powered?
Only through PoE in on port 5, using an 802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt source. It has no AC adapter, so the PoE injector or switch upstream must supply enough power.
How much PoE can it pass to cameras?
Up to 64 W total when fed 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W), 44 W from Type 3 (60 W), 19 W from 802.3at and 6 W from 802.3af. Ports 1 to 4 are 802.3af/at.
Can it be mounted outdoors?
Yes. The enclosure is IP66 rated and UV-resistant, with a -40°F to 140°F operating range. A wall bracket and pole strap are in the box.
How far can it extend a PoE run?
PoE passthrough doubles the source-to-device distance from 100 m to 200 m at Gigabit speed. Actual distance varies with cable quality and device draw.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface and CLI. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
