The Omada SG2206MP is a compact 6-port Gigabit Smart switch with four PoE+ ports at up to 30 W each and a 63 W budget, plus an SFP slot for a fiber uplink. It suits a small camera or access point job at a remote building where one fiber run needs to feed a few powered devices.

Built for small jobs with a fiber uplink

Ports 1 to 4 are 802.3af/at PoE+, one more Gigabit RJ45 port handles a data device, and the Gigabit SFP slot takes the uplink. Perpetual PoE keeps devices powered through a switch reboot and Fast PoE brings them up early on a cold start. It is fanless, sits on a desk or mounts on a wall, and adopts into the same Omada site as the gateway and APs.

Key features

  • 4 PoE+ ports, 63 W total: up to 30 W per port for cameras, APs and phones
  • Gigabit SFP slot: for a fiber uplink to the core or another building
  • Perpetual and Fast PoE: devices stay powered through a switch reboot and power up early on a cold start
  • VLANs, ACLs and static routing: for segmented camera and data networks
  • Fanless desktop or wall mount: silent in an office, rubber feet included

System requirements

Uses the included 53.5V DC external power adapter. Powered devices must be 802.3af or 802.3at compliant. Centralized management needs an Omada Cloud-Based Controller (firmware 5.15.22 or later), Omada hardware controller or Omada Software Controller (5.15.20 or later); zero-touch provisioning needs the cloud controller. Without a controller the switch runs standalone from its own web interface and CLI.

FAQs

How many PoE ports does the SG2206MP have?
Four. Ports 1 to 4 are 802.3af/at PoE+ at up to 30 W each, sharing a 63 W budget. The fifth RJ45 port and the SFP slot are data only.
What does the SFP slot take?
It is a Gigabit SFP slot, used for a fiber uplink to the core switch or another building.
Will cameras lose power when the switch reboots?
No. Perpetual PoE keeps power on the ports during a switch reboot, and Fast PoE powers devices on a cold start before the switch finishes booting.
Does it need an Omada controller?
No. It runs standalone from its web interface and CLI. An Omada controller adds centralized management, and the cloud controller adds zero-touch provisioning.
Is it fanless?
Yes. It has no fan, so it is silent on a desk or wall.
