Pairs with

The Versa SHOCK-319 is a wireless shock sensor and door/window contact in one 319.5 MHz device. It mounts on the frame of a door or window and catches the impact and vibration of a forced-entry attempt: prying, kicking and striking all register. The alarm trips while the attack is still happening, on one supervised zone, and the same unit reports the opening as an ordinary contact.

Tune it from the mounted position

A small screwdriver dial marked MIN and MAX sets how hard an impact has to be before the sensor fires. The pre-shock LED makes that workable: green flashes when an impact came close to the threshold without reaching it, and red lights when the shock alarm fires. Tuning becomes a live read instead of a guess. Because vibration reaches the sensor through the surface it is taped to, set the dial with the unit mounted on the actual door or window.

A DIP switch marked REED SW turns the door/window contact on or off. ON reports shock and the contact, OFF reports shock only. Versa's Bluefield blue LED confirms magnet placement during install, and the slide-off lid keeps battery and color changes tool-free with the sensor still on the frame.

Key features

  • Shock sensor plus contact on one zone: detects prying, kicking and striking on the frame or sash
  • Adjustable sensitivity: MIN to MAX screwdriver dial with green pre-shock and red alarm LEDs
  • REED SW DIP switch: ON adds the door/window contact, OFF is shock only
  • Bluefield magnet alignment: blue LED confirms the magnet is in range, with a 1 in. gap on wood and 1/4 in. on metal
  • 8+ year battery life: one 3V Versa CR2U lithium cell, or a Panasonic CR2
  • Cover tamper: trips on cover removal, fully supervised transmitter
  • Surface mount: double-faced tape included
  • Listed: UL, FCC and IC

Installation notes

Mount the transmitter on the frame or sash of the protected door or window, with or without glass inserts, and never on the glass itself. Put the magnet on the part that moves, keep both clear of metal and heavy wiring, and run the panel's Go/No Go test before you commit to a spot. Shock detection is not evaluated by UL. This is a forced-entry sensor, not a glassbreak detector.

System requirements

Any 319.5 MHz panel that takes a standard supervised zone. Qolsys IQ Panel 5, IQ Panel 4 and IQ Panel 2+ need the 319.5 MHz SRF card or a built-in 319.5 MHz radio, and GE/Interlogix-class 319.5 MHz panels work as well. Put the panel in autolearn and tap the cover or open and close the magnet to enroll.

FAQs

What does the SHOCK-319 detect, and is it a glassbreak sensor?
It detects impact and vibration in the surface it is mounted on, such as prying, kicking or striking a frame. It is not a glassbreak detector, which listens for the sound of breaking glass.
Can I use the SHOCK-319 as a window shock sensor?
Yes. Mount the transmitter on the window frame or sash and the magnet on the part that moves. One zone reports both opening and an attack on a closed window. Never mount it on the glass.
Which panels work with the SHOCK-319?
Qolsys IQ Panel 5, IQ Panel 4 and IQ Panel 2+ with a 319.5 MHz radio or SRF card, and GE/Interlogix-class 319.5 MHz panels. It enrolls as a standard supervised zone.
How do I enroll the SHOCK-319?
Put the panel in autolearn, then open or close the magnet or tap the cover so it sends its serial number. Name the zone, set the zone type and save. Run Go/No Go before mounting permanently.
How do I set the shock sensitivity?
Mount the unit, then strike the surface gently with your palm or turn the MIN to MAX dial clockwise with a small screwdriver. Green flashes on a near-threshold impact, red lights on an alarm.
What does the REED SW DIP switch do?
It enables or disables the internal door/window contact. ON reports shock and the contact using the supplied magnet. OFF reports shock only, and the reed and magnet go unused.
What battery does the SHOCK-319 use and how long does it last?
One 3V Versa CR2U lithium battery, rated 8+ years. A Panasonic CR2 also works. The slide-off lid lets you change it with the sensor still mounted. Disarm or enter test mode first.
How is the SHOCK-319 different from the MINI-319?
Same frequency, same enrollment. The MINI-319 is a 0.25 in. door/window contact. The SHOCK-319 adds shock detection on the same zone in a larger 0.75 in. body, for openings that are likely attack points.
