SKU:
AJ-42805

An acoustic glass break detector covering up to 30 feet across 180 degrees, which from one well-placed position usually covers every pane in a room. It runs up to seven years on the pre-installed battery.

Built for the installer

DualTone is what keeps it quiet. The detector requires both the low-frequency thud of the impact and the high-frequency shatter before it alarms, so a dropped glass, a slammed door or a dog barking does not produce a call-out.

Glass break detection catches an intrusion at the moment the pane goes rather than when someone climbs through, which on a shop front or a patio door buys real time. There is also an NC terminal input, so a wired contact can be brought onto the system through this device.

Key features

  • 30 ft at 180 degrees covers a whole room's glazing from one position
  • DualTone verification requires impact and shatter frequencies together, filtering nuisance sounds
  • Detects at the moment the pane breaks, not when someone climbs through
  • Up to 7 years on the pre-installed CR123A
  • NC terminal input to bring a wired contact onto the system

Requires an Ajax hub or range extender. Indoor use only. Mount with a clear acoustic path to the glazing being protected.

Where should a glass break detector be mounted?
With a clear acoustic path to the glazing, within 30 ft. Heavy curtains, blinds and furniture between the detector and the glass reduce effective range.
Will normal household noise trigger it?
DualTone verification requires both the low-frequency impact and the high-frequency shatter before alarming, which filters out dropped glasses, slammed doors and barking.
How many detectors does a room need?
Usually one. The 180 degree coverage at up to 30 ft covers the glazing in most rooms from a single position on the opposite wall.
Does this device need an Ajax hub?
Yes. All Jeweller devices report to an Ajax hub or a range extender. The device cannot operate standalone and does not connect to a third-party panel directly.
What does the 9NA region code mean?
It is the North America model, operating on the 905.0-926.5 MHz Jeweller band certified to UL/ULC standards. European models on 868 MHz are not interchangeable with it.
How quickly is a lost device detected?
Within 36 seconds. Jeweller polls each device continuously, so a jammed, removed or failed device is reported rather than quietly going offline.
