The KI-IB is the mounting base to specify anywhere a Kidde KI Series detector sits on a Class A signaling line circuit. Its built-in line fault isolator keeps a single short from taking down the whole loop Ć¢ā¬ā the isolators on either side of the fault open in milliseconds and the rest of the circuit keeps reporting.
Why installers use it
- Automatically isolates a shorted section of the loop within 23 msec, then self-restores once the fault clears
- Wiring terminals stay accessible from the room side after the base is mounted to the box
- Mounts to standard North American 1-gang boxes, 3-1/2" or 4" octagon boxes, and European BESA boxes
Where it fits
Use the KI-IB wherever a KI Series smoke, heat, or multisensor detector needs Class A isolation Ć¢ā¬ā it requires a compatible detector installed to function, and does not support the GSA-LED remote indicator.
