The Kidde Genesis LED EGCSVWF is a ceiling-mount speaker/strobe that combines high-fidelity voice audio with a field-selectable LED strobe on a single NAC circuit. It mounts to standard 2-gang and 4-inch square boxes, protrudes just 1.5 inches from the ceiling, and ships with a room-side wiring plate (GRSW) for pre-installation wiring and continuity checks before the device snaps into place.
Built for the commercial fire alarm installer
Genesis LED technology draws significantly less current than legacy Xenon strobes - longer circuit runs, more devices per NAC, and fewer booster power supplies on the job. Current draw stays flat at 35 mA (VDC) or 45 mA (VFWR) regardless of which candela setting you select, simplifying NAC calculations during system design. The EGCSVWF is backwards compatible with Xenon-based Genesis devices on the same circuit and field of view, so you can upgrade existing notification appliances piecemeal without ripping out what's already installed.
Key features
- Field-selectable 15, 30, 75, or 115 cd strobe output - adjust settings without removing the device from the ceiling
- 87 dB sound output at 2W with a Speech Transmission Index (STI) of .81 for clear, intelligible voice evacuation
- 520 Hz low-frequency capable - meets NFPA 72 requirements for sleeping areas in hotels, dormitories, and residential occupancies
- 25V and 70V speaker operation with field-selectable wattage taps (1/4W, 1/2W, 1W, 2W)
- Flat current draw across all candela settings - no NAC recalculation when adjusting light output in the field
- Room-side wiring plate included (GRSW) - pre-wire and verify circuit continuity before the appliance goes up
System requirements
Requires a supervised NAC circuit from a compatible Kidde fire alarm control panel (FACP). Operates on 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR. Mounts to any standard 2-gang or 4-inch square electrical box. Optional EGCTW white trim plate covers oversized openings. Genesis LED sync protocol keeps multiple strobes synchronized per NFPA 72 and UL requirements on compatible NAC circuits.
