SKU:
KD-EGCVWN

The Kidde Genesis LED EGC ceiling strobe delivers selectable 15, 30, 75, or 115 candela output from a single compact unit, reducing SKU complexity and on-site inventory. A rotary switch on the device sets the cd level - no need to swap modules or return to the truck for a different model.

Built for the commercial fire installer

The EGC Series mounts to standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, or 4-inch square boxes with the included room-side wiring plate. Low-profile ceiling mount at 6.8" diameter by 1.82" deep keeps the device unobtrusive in commercial corridors, lobbies, and open-plan offices. UL 1971 listed (S218) and ULC listed, with FM Approval for industrial and hazardous occupancy applications.

Key features

  • Field-selectable candela: 15, 30, 75, or 115 cd via rotary switch - one SKU covers multiple AHJ requirements
  • Low current draw: 35 mA DC / 45 mA FWR across all candela settings, maximizing NAC circuit capacity
  • Built-in synchronization: synchronizes with Kidde CC Series signal modules, booster power supplies, and intelligent/conventional panels
  • Room-side wiring plate included: wire connections accessible from the room side for faster pulls and service
  • Standard box compatibility: mounts on 1-gang, 2-gang, 4" octagon, or 4" square boxes
  • UL 1971 and ULC listed: compliant for new construction and retrofit notification appliance circuits

System requirements

Connects to any 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR notification appliance circuit. Compatible with Kidde intelligent and conventional fire alarm control panels. Synchronization requires 20 Ī© maximum wire resistance between devices. Wire size: 12-18 AWG.

What candela settings are available on the EGCVWN?
15, 30, 75, and 115 cd, selectable in the field via a rotary switch on the device. One SKU covers multiple AHJ spacing requirements per NFPA 72.
Does this strobe synchronize with other devices on the NAC circuit?
Yes. Built-in synchronization works with Kidde CC Series signal modules, booster and auxiliary power supplies, and both intelligent and conventional fire alarm control panels. Maximum wire resistance of 20 Ī© between any two synchronized devices.
What voltage does the EGC ceiling strobe require?
16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR. Connects to any standard notification appliance circuit in that range.
What electrical boxes does the EGCVWN mount to?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, or 4-inch square boxes. A room-side wiring plate is included for accessible wire termination.
How much current does the Genesis EGC strobe draw?
35 mA on DC, 45 mA on FWR, consistent across all four candela settings. Low draw maximizes the number of devices per NAC circuit run.
