The Kidde Genesis LED EG1-CVM puts audible and visual fire notification in the smallest Genesis wall mount footprint. The compact chime-strobe runs on 24VDC with field-selectable candela output (15, 30, 60, 75, or 95 cd), so one SKU covers most commercial corridor, classroom, and office applications without stocking multiple models.
Built for the commercial installer
The EG1 Series compact form factor trims box size without cutting capability. UL 464 and UL 1638 listed in the US, ULC-S525 and ULC-S541 listed in Canada. Mounts on standard 4-inch square boxes or single-gang boxes with no adapter plate, and accepts 12-18 AWG field wiring. LED strobe technology draws less current per candela setting than older xenon units, leaving more headroom on the NAC circuit for additional devices.
Key features
- Compact Genesis form factor: smaller profile than the full-size Genesis line, fits tight corridor and office locations
- Field-selectable candela: 15, 30, 60, 75, or 95 cd via DIP switch - no need to swap the device for different coverage areas
- Temporal or steady chime: supports Temporal 3 pattern per NFPA 72 or continuous tone
- LED strobe technology: lower current draw per candela than xenon, extending NAC circuit capacity
- Synchronization capable: synchronizes with Genesis Signal Master or compatible FACP NAC outputs
- UL and ULC dual-listed: UL 464, UL 1638, ULC-S525, ULC-S541 for US and Canadian installations
System requirements
Requires a 24VDC NAC circuit from a compatible fire alarm control panel. Operates on 16-33VDC input range. Compatible with Genesis synchronization protocol for synchronized strobe flash across multiple devices on the same circuit.
