The Kidde EG1RF-CVM is a Genesis LED EG1 Series wall-mount chime-strobe that combines audible chime notification with field-selectable LED strobe output in a compact single-gang form factor. High-efficiency LED optics deliver significant current savings over legacy Xenon strobes, reducing the number of NAC circuits and power supplies on the job while maintaining full backward compatibility with existing Xenon devices on the same circuit.
Built for the commercial installer
The EG1 platform mounts to any standard 1-gang electrical box with no trim ring required. Optional EG1TR trim rings cover 4-inch square and oversized openings when needed. The device protrudes about 1" from the mounting surface with no visible screws, and under-cover diagnostic test points let you validate the NAC and verify device function without removing the unit from the wall. Slide switches handle all field configuration - candela selection, tone pattern - without tools.
Listed to UL 1971, UL 1638, and UL 464 with CSFM approval. ADA compliant per CFR Chapter 28 Part 36. Red housing with FIRE marking.
Key features
- Field-selectable strobe output: 15, 30, or 75 cd - change under the cover without removing the device from the wall
- Ultra-low current draw: LED technology reduces circuit loading, often allowing smaller wire gauge and fewer power supplies than Xenon equivalents
- Single-gang footprint: compact 3 x 4-5/8 x 1-1/8 in. profile fits tight spaces and mounts flush
- Backward compatible: mix freely on the same NAC circuit and field of view as legacy Xenon-based Genesis strobes
- Quick-swap covers: change housing color or marking in the field without replacing the appliance
- Synchronized flashing: exceeds UL synchronization requirements when paired with a compatible Kidde signal source
System requirements
Operates on a compatible Kidde NAC circuit at 16 to 33 VDC (or 16 to 33 VFWR). Strobe synchronization requires a Kidde CC Series signal module, booster power supply, auxiliary power supply, or compatible intelligent or conventional FACP. Wire with 12 to 18 AWG.
