The EG1AVRF is a compact wall-mount horn/strobe from Kidde's Genesis LED EG1 Series, built for commercial fire alarm notification. Field-selectable 15, 30, or 75 candela output covers a range of spacing requirements with a single SKU, and a high/low dB horn toggle with constant or T3 temporal patterns handles both alert modes without swapping devices.
Built for the commercial installer
LED technology keeps current draw low (as little as 35 mA at 75 cd on DC), which means fewer power supplies and simpler NAC circuit math on large jobs. The device mounts to standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, or 4-inch square boxes with no special hardware. Listed to UL 1971, UL 1638, and UL 464, and ADA compliant for strobe output. Synchronization works across Kidde CC Series signal modules, booster/auxiliary power supplies, and both Intelligent and Conventional control panels.
Key features
- Field-selectable 15/30/75 cd strobe: one SKU covers multiple spacing tables, reducing inventory and change-order headaches
- High/low dB horn with constant or T3 temporal patterns: 80-85 dBA reverberant (UL 464), configurable on-site
- Low current draw: LED technology pulls as little as 35 mA (VDC) at full 75 cd output, stretching NAC circuit capacity
- Standard box compatibility: mounts to 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, or 4-inch square electrical boxes
- Broad panel compatibility: synchronizes with Kidde Intelligent and Conventional control panels and CC Series signal modules
- UL listed and ADA compliant: UL 1971, UL 1638, UL 464, FCC, ICC, CSFM
System requirements
Operates on 16-33 VDC or 16-33 VFWR from a compatible Kidde fire alarm control panel or NAC power supply. Synchronization requires 20 ohms or less between any two devices on the circuit. Wire with 12-18 AWG conductors. Optional trim rings (EG1TR red, EG1TW white) available for finished installations.
