The FX-10R is a ten-zone conventional fire alarm control panel built for the small and mid-size commercial jobs that do not justify an addressable system. Ten Class B initiating device circuits and four Class B notification appliance circuits come standard, and pairs of each convert to single Class A circuits in the field, so one part number covers a wide range of survivability requirements without a re-order.

The 7.0 amp NAC power supply is the reason this panel gets specified. Two amps per circuit across four circuits means most buildings get their horn-strobes off the panel itself with no booster to mount, wire, and supervise. The cabinet charges up to two 24 Ah sealed lead acid batteries, with 18 Ah fitting inside the enclosure, so standby calculations rarely force you into an external battery cabinet.

Zone and NAC circuits are labelled on the front panel behind the door, so a technician reading the annunciator sees what tripped without pulling drawings. Listed under UL 864 (S3000), ULC-S527, CSFM, and FDNY.

Requires a dedicated 120 Vac 60 Hz branch circuit at 2.2 amps. Terminals accept 18 to 12 AWG. Two sealed lead acid batteries are ordered separately and are required for standby. For remote annunciation, add an FSRA10 or FSRA10C. Consult detector compatibility list 3101019-EN for the maximum number of detectors per initiating circuit. If a DACT is required for central station reporting, order the FX-10RD, which adds an upload/download DACT and modem in the same enclosure.

How many detectors can I put on each initiating circuit?
IDC alarm current is 3.0 mA. The exact device count depends on the detector model, so consult Kidde detector compatibility list 3101019-EN for the maximum per circuit.
Can the circuits be wired Class A?
Yes. Pairs of IDCs convert to single Class A circuits, giving 10 Class B through 5 Class A. NACs convert the same way, giving 4 Class B, 2 Class B plus 1 Class A, or 2 Class A.
Do I need a NAC booster with this panel?
Usually not. The FX-10R supplies 7.0 amps total across four circuits at 2.0 amps each, which covers most small and mid-size notification loads. Add a booster only when the calculated load exceeds that.
What batteries does the FX-10R take?
Sealed lead acid only. The panel charges up to two 24 Ah batteries, though 18 Ah is the largest pair that fits inside the cabinet. Larger batteries need an external battery cabinet. Batteries are ordered separately.
What is the difference between the FX-10R and the FX-10RD?
The FX-10RD is the same panel with an upload/download DACT and modem built in for central station reporting over two phone lines. Everything else, including circuit counts and NAC power, is identical.
Can this panel be semi-flush mounted?
Yes. Order the F-TRIM10R semi-flush trim ring separately. Add 1.5 inches to the height and width dimensions when the trim kit is used.
Is remote annunciation available?
Yes. The FSRA10 and FSRA10C remote annunciators are compatible with 10-zone panels. The FSRA10C adds common controls. Both mount to a North American 4-inch square electrical box.
