SKU:
KD-EBPS6A

The EBPS6A is a 6.5-amp remote booster power supply that adds NAC capacity to commercial fire alarm systems without replacing the main panel. Four Class B circuits (convertible to two Class A) deliver up to 6.5 amps of filtered, regulated 24VDC output for notification appliances - right where the building needs it.

Built for the commercial installer

UL 864 10th Edition listed and ULC-S527 certified, the EBPS6A drops into existing fire alarm architectures with dual-input activation circuits that accept filtered 6-45 VDC from the panel's NAC or unfiltered 11-33 VDC from Signature Series control modules. Cascading is straightforward - existing NAC end-of-line resistors stay where they are, so multiple boosters can run off a single panel NAC circuit without special configuration.

Genesis and Enhanced Integrity synchronization is built in, along with support for coded output, continuous, and 3-3-3 temporal signal rates. The enclosure fits two 10 Ah batteries internally for standby power, or connect an external battery cabinet for up to 65 Ah backup on MNEC and life safety applications.

Key features

  • 6.5A total output across 4 Class B or 2 Class A NAC circuits - 3A max per circuit, 18.2-27.0 VDC regulated
  • Genesis and Enhanced Integrity sync for coordinated notification appliance operation
  • Cascadable without rewiring EOL resistors - multiple boosters on one panel NAC circuit
  • Seven on-board diagnostic LEDs for NAC, battery, ground fault, and AC power status at a glance
  • Dual-input activation from panel NAC output or Signature Series modules
  • NAC circuits reconfigurable as auxiliary 24VDC outputs via DIP switches for flexible system design
  • Optional OSHPD seismic pre-approval for Importance Factor 1.5 installations

System requirements

Connects to any fire alarm control panel with NAC output or Kidde Commercial Signature Series control modules. Requires 120VAC input power (220-240VAC model also available). Internal battery compartment fits two 12V 10Ah sealed lead-acid batteries. Accepts 18-12 AWG wiring through 3/4-inch conduit knockouts.

How many NAC circuits does the EBPS6A provide?
Four Class B circuits (convertible to two Class A). Each circuit handles up to 3A, with 6.5A total output across all circuits.
Can multiple EBPS6A boosters run off one panel NAC circuit?
Yes. The EBPS6A is designed for cascading - existing end-of-line resistors stay on the panel NAC, so multiple boosters can share a single activation circuit without rewiring.
Does the EBPS6A support Genesis notification appliance synchronization?
Yes. Genesis and Enhanced Integrity synchronization protocols are built in, keeping all connected notification appliances in step.
What battery backup does the EBPS6A support?
Two 12V 10Ah sealed lead-acid batteries fit inside the enclosure. For longer standby requirements, connect an external battery cabinet (BC-1 or BC-2) for up to 65 Ah capacity.
Can the NAC circuits be used as auxiliary power outputs?
Yes. Any of the four NAC circuits can be reconfigured as 24VDC auxiliary outputs via DIP switches, plus a dedicated 200 mA auxiliary output is always available.
What signal rates can the EBPS6A output?
Continuous, 3-3-3 temporal (ANSI S3.41 compliant), or follow the installed panel's NAC signal rate automatically.
Is the EBPS6A seismic rated?
Optional OSHPD seismic pre-approval is available (Importance Factor 1.5). The 3-SEIS seismic kit and 3-TAMP tamper switch are sold separately.
