The Kidde SD-T24 is a 24-inch rigid metal air sampling tube for the SuperDuct family of duct smoke detectors. It pulls air from the HVAC duct into the detector's photoelectric sensing chamber, where smoke is measured against the detector's obscuration threshold. Ordered separately from the detector assembly, the tube drops into the standard sampling tube socket on both two-wire (SD-2W) and four-wire (SD-4W) SuperDuct models.
Built for the commercial installer
Standard tube spacing matches all SuperDuct detector housings and provides a direct drop-in replacement for aging tubes or easy migration from other duct detector brands. The tube installs from the front-side or back-side of the detector housing without removing the cover, and rotates in 45-degree increments so the air inlet holes face the airstream regardless of how the detector is mounted on the duct.
Key features
- 24-inch reach for medium-width HVAC ducts - longer tubes (36", 42", 60", 78", 120") available for wider applications
- Standard sampling tube spacing for drop-in migration from other duct detector brands
- Installs without opening the detector - slides into the sampling tube socket from front or back of housing
- 45-degree rotation increments align air inlet holes with duct airflow at any mounting angle
- Rigid metal construction built for the temperature and humidity extremes inside commercial HVAC ductwork
Compatibility
Works with all Kidde SuperDuct conventional duct smoke detectors including the SD-2W (two-wire), SD-4W (four-wire), and their associated controllers (SD-CJ, SD-CT). Also compatible with Kidde Intelligent and Optica duct smoke detectors that use the standard SuperDuct sampling tube socket.
