The SD-RJ5 is a 5-foot RJ45 wiring harness for connecting Kidde SuperDuct duct smoke detector assemblies to their controller when installed remotely. The 8-conductor CMP-rated cable terminates in RJ45 connectors with rubber glands at each end, providing a watertight seal that holds up in the mechanical room environments where duct detectors live.
Built for the commercial installer
SuperDuct detectors and controllers use standard RJ45 modular interconnection, so the harness plugs in without stripping or terminating wire. CMP (Communications Multipurpose Plenum) rating satisfies code requirements for plenum-rated spaces. Compatible with both the four-wire SD-4W and two-wire SD-2W SuperDuct conventional duct detector families.
Key features
- Plug-and-play RJ45 connections - no wire stripping or terminal blocks required
- Watertight rubber glands at each connector prevent moisture ingress in high-humidity mechanical rooms
- CMP-rated cable for plenum-space code compliance
- 8-conductor construction carries all signals between detector and controller in a single run
- Also available in 10 ft (SD-RJ10) and 15 ft (SD-RJ15) for longer remote installations
System requirements
Requires a Kidde SuperDuct RJ45-model controller and detector. Maximum wiring distance from detector to controller is 100 ft.
