The FX-SLC1 adds a full 250-device SLC loop to a Kidde FX-1000 intelligent fire alarm panel without replacing the main board. Plug the card into an open expansion slot, wire a Class A or Class B loop, and the panel auto-enrolls the new devices on power-up. For FX-64 panels, the same card replaces the standard 64-point loop controller.

Built for the fire alarm installer

Each SLC loop supports up to 250 intelligent addressable device addresses - 125 detectors and 125 modules. Wiring runs up to 20,000 feet per loop in Class B or Class A configurations, with built-in ground fault detection and up to 64 isolators per loop for fault segmentation. The card draws 24 VDC from the panel's main board at just 55 mA standby and 80 mA in alarm on a fully loaded loop.

Does the FX-SLC1 work with the FX-64 panel?
Yes. On the FX-64, the FX-SLC1 replaces the standard 64-point loop controller card. It does not expand the FX-64 beyond its 64-device address limit.
How many loops can the FX-1000 support with expansion cards?
The FX-1000 has two expansion slots. With two FX-SLC1 cards (or one FX-SLC2 dual-loop card), the panel supports up to four total SLC loops and 1,000 device addresses.
Can I mix Class A and Class B wiring on different loops?
Yes. Each SLC loop is wired independently. You can run Class A on one loop and Class B on another based on AHJ requirements and installation layout.
What is the maximum wiring distance per SLC loop?
Each loop supports up to 20,000 feet of wiring. Maximum total loop resistance is 66 Ω and maximum total loop capacitance is 0.5 μF.
Does the FX-SLC1 require its own power supply?
No. The card draws power from the FX panel's main circuit board at 24 VDC. Standby current is 55 mA and alarm current is 80 mA on a fully loaded loop - minimal impact on the panel's power budget.
