KD-K-279B-1110

The Kidde K-279B-1110 is a non-coded double-action fire alarm pull station from the 279B series. The two-step activation - lift the upper door, then pull the handle - cuts false alarms while keeping the station operable for anyone in an emergency. Rugged red LEXAN 940 housing holds up in commercial environments without cracking or fading.

Built for the commercial fire installer

Mounts semi-flush on a standard 4-inch square box with a single gang plaster cover (minimum 2-1/4" depth), or surface-mounts with the optional 276B-RSB back box. Six-inch wire leads simplify field connections - no terminal blocks to deal with in a tight box. The single pole open circuit contact handles general alarm applications on conventional fire alarm panels. UL listed (UL38, S218) and FM approved.

Key features

  • Double-action activation reduces false alarms - occupants lift the door before pulling the handle
  • Break glass with latch action provides positive alarm indication until manually reset with the included tool
  • 6" wire leads for fast field connections without terminal work
  • Mounts on standard 4" square box with single gang plaster cover, or optional 276B-RSB surface back box
  • Red LEXAN 940 housing with white lettering for high visibility and durability
  • UL listed and FM approved for code-compliant commercial fire alarm installations

Accessories

276-GLR replacement glass rods, 276B-RSB surface back box, and optional 276-R series resistor kit (560 Ohms, for stations wired on smoke detector circuits) available separately.

What electrical box does this pull station require?
For semi-flush mounting, use a standard North American 4-inch square box with a single gang plaster cover (minimum overall depth of 2-1/4 inches / 57mm). For surface mounting, use the Kidde 276B-RSB surface back box, ordered separately.
How do you reset this pull station after activation?
Open the station using the included tool, restore the toggle switch to its normal position, replace the break glass rod (276-GLR replacement rods available separately), and reclose the station.
What is the difference between the 278B and 279B series?
The 278B series uses screw terminals for field wiring. The 279B series uses 6-inch (150mm) wire leads instead. Both are double-action, non-coded, break glass pull stations with the same contact ratings and mounting options.
Can this station be wired on a smoke detector circuit?
Yes, with the optional 276-R series resistor kit (560 Ohms, ±5%, 2W). The resistor kit is ordered separately and installs inside the station housing.
Is this pull station UL listed?
Yes. UL listed under UL38 (file S218) and FM approved for commercial fire alarm applications.
