KD-K-277B-1120

The Kidde K-277B-1120 is a single-action, non-coded fire alarm pull station built from rugged LEXAN 940 for commercial and institutional fire alarm systems. Pull the handle, break the glass rod, and the station latches in alarm position until reset with the included key - no momentary contacts, no ambiguity about activation status.

Built for the commercial installer

The 277B series uses 6-inch wire leads for field connections, making termination faster than screw-terminal models in tight boxes. Single pole, open circuit contacts rated at 3.0A / 30 VAC (1.0A / 28 VDC) resistive load handle standard conventional fire alarm panel initiating circuits. ULC listed. Mounts semi-flush on a standard North American 4-inch square box with single gang plaster cover (minimum 2-1/4" depth) or surface-mounted with the optional 276B-RSB back box.

Key features

  • Single-action activation: one pull breaks the glass rod and latches the alarm - no two-step sequence for building occupants to fumble
  • Key reset (276-K1 included): reset requires opening the station with the supplied key, restoring the toggle, and replacing the glass rod
  • Wire lead connections: 6" (150mm) leads simplify wiring in standard electrical boxes
  • LEXAN 940 construction: red housing with white raised letters stands up to high-traffic commercial environments
  • ULC listed: meets Canadian fire alarm system requirements
  • General alarm operation: initiates general alarm on the connected fire alarm panel

Mounting

Semi-flush mount on a standard 4" square box with single gang plaster cover (overall minimum depth 2-1/4" / 57mm). For surface installations, use the 276B-RSB surface back box (sold separately). Station dimensions: 3-9/16" W x 5-3/16" H (91mm x 130mm).

How do you reset the K-277B-1120 after an alarm?
Open the station with the included Cat. No. 276-K1 key, restore the toggle switch to its normal position, replace the break glass rod (Cat. No. 276-GLR), and close the station. The handle will unlatch and return to the ready position.
What mounting box does this pull station require?
For semi-flush mounting, use a standard North American 4-inch square box with a single gang plaster cover having an overall minimum depth of 2-1/4 inches (57mm). For surface mounting, use the Kidde 276B-RSB surface back box (sold separately).
Does this station support pre-signal operation?
No. The K-277B-1120 is a general alarm station only. For pre-signal capability with a secondary keyswitch (Cat. No. 276-K2), see the K-276B-1320 or other pre-signal models in the 276/277B series.
What replacement parts are available?
276-GLR replacement glass rods, 276-K1 station reset key (one included with station), 276-K2 general alarm key (for pre-signal models, ordered separately), and 276B-RSB surface back box.
Can this station be used on smoke detector initiating circuits?
Yes, with the optional 276-R resistor kit designed for stations connected to smoke detector circuits.
What is the difference between the 276B and 277B series?
The 276B series uses screw terminals for field wiring connections. The 277B series (this product) uses 6-inch (150mm) wire leads instead, which can simplify termination in tight junction boxes.
