SKU:
KD-FX-1000

The FX-1000 drops into mid-sized commercial projects as a four-loop intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel with room to scale. Ships with one 250-point SLC loop installed and expands to four loops and 1,000 addressable points without swapping the panel - right-size the system at install and add capacity as the building grows.

Built for the commercial fire alarm installer

Four onboard Class B (Style Y) NAC circuits rated at 6.0 A FWR total reduce the need for external booster power supplies on typical jobs. The panel accepts Class A or Class B SLC wiring (Styles 4, 6, 7) and supports up to 32 input zones and 8 remote annunciator drops over RS-485 with a 4,000 ft. data line. Primary power is 120 VAC (or 230 VAC, 50-60 Hz) with 24 VDC sealed lead-acid battery backup - up to two 18 Ah batteries fit inside the cabinet for 24- or 60-hour standby. UL 864 and ULC-S527 listed.

Key features

  • Scalable four-loop architecture: starts with one 250-point loop, expands to 1,000 addressable points across four SLC loops
  • Four onboard NACs: 6.0 A FWR total at 120/230 VAC, 2.5 A per circuit - reduces external power supply requirements
  • Class A or Class B SLC wiring: Styles 4, 6, and 7 for flexible riser design
  • 32 input zones and 8 remote annunciator drops over RS-485 (up to 4,000 ft. data line length)
  • Built-in battery backup: accepts up to two 18 Ah sealed lead-acid batteries inside the red surface-mount cabinet
  • UL 864 and ULC-S527 listed for code-compliant commercial fire alarm installations

System requirements

Primary power: 120 VAC, 60 Hz (or 230 VAC, 50-60 Hz). Off-premises communications require an SA-DACT2 dialer or KCG1 cellular gateway, ordered separately. Expansion beyond one SLC loop requires FX-SLC1 or FX-SLC2 expansion modules. Compatible with Kidde Intelligent FX series detectors and modules.

How many addressable points does the FX-1000 support?
Up to 1,000 across four SLC loops (250 per loop). Ships with one loop installed. Add FX-SLC1 or FX-SLC2 expansion modules for additional loops.
What NAC wiring styles does the FX-1000 support?
Four Class B (Style Y) or two Class A (Style Z) NAC circuits rated at 6.0 A FWR total. Each circuit supports up to 2.5 A FWR max.
Does the FX-1000 include a dialer for off-premises communication?
No. Off-premises communications require an SA-DACT2 digital alarm communicator transmitter or KCG1 cellular gateway, ordered separately.
What batteries fit inside the FX-1000 cabinet?
Up to two 18 Ah sealed lead-acid batteries (24 VDC). Supports 24-hour or 60-hour standby operation. For larger capacity, use an external Kidde battery cabinet (BC-1 or BC-1R).
What detectors are compatible with the FX-1000?
Kidde Intelligent FX series detectors and modules. See the FX-64 and FX-1000 Series Compatibility List (P/N 3102355-EN) for the complete list of supported devices.
Does the FX-1000 support Class A SLC wiring?
Yes. Each SLC loop supports Class A or Class B wiring in Styles 4, 6, and 7, with up to 64 isolators per loop.
