SKU:
KD-FX-64R

The FX-64R is a one-loop intelligent fire alarm control panel supporting up to 64 device addresses in any combination of detectors and modules. It brings addressable detection to small buildings that would otherwise be stuck on a conventional panel, in a red surface-mount enclosure.

Built for the commercial fire installer

Rotary addressing is the practical advantage here. Devices are addressed with familiar rotary switches rather than a programmer, and the panel maps them automatically, so commissioning does not depend on one technician who knows the software. The loop wires Class A or Class B in Styles 4, 6, or 7, and supports up to 63 T-taps, which means each device can sit on its own branch rather than forcing a daisy chain through awkward ceiling spaces.

Two Class B notification appliance circuits come standard at 3.75 A total, with Class A available through a module. For retrofits where existing conventional devices need to stay in service, the RZI16-2RS module adds 16 conventional circuits and two more NACs to the same panel.

Key features

  • 64 intelligent device addresses on one Class A or Class B loop, any mix of detectors and modules
  • Rotary addressing with automatic device mapping: no programmer required to address a device
  • Up to 63 T-taps: every device can be on its own branch
  • Two Class B NACs at 3.75 A total, 2.5 A max per circuit, Class A optional via module
  • Two 500 mA auxiliary power outputs at 24 VDC
  • Up to 8 remote annunciator drops over RS-485 at up to 4,000 ft
  • Conventional retrofit path: RZI16-2RS adds 16 conventional circuits and two NACs
  • Optional Ethernet (SA-ETH) for central monitoring, programming and diagnostics

System requirements

Requires 120 VAC 60 Hz at 1.3 A max. Two 10 Ah batteries fit inside the FX-64 cabinet; larger batteries need an external Kidde battery cabinet. The dialer is ordered separately, and the SA-DACT2 mounts in the panel for central station reporting over one or two loop-start lines. Order the SA-TRIM1 for a flush-mount installation. See compatibility list 3102355-EN for supported devices.

How many devices can the FX-64R support?
Up to 64 device addresses on a single loop, in any combination of detectors and modules. Each device can be on its own T-tap branch, up to 63 T-taps.
Do I need a programmer to address devices?
No. Devices are addressed with rotary switches on the device itself, and the panel maps them automatically. That keeps commissioning independent of specialist software knowledge.
Can I keep existing conventional devices on a retrofit?
Yes. The RZI16-2RS module adds up to 16 conventional device circuits and two additional notification appliance circuits to the panel, so intelligent and conventional devices run side by side.
Is a dialer included?
No. The dialer is ordered separately. The SA-DACT2 mounts inside the panel and reports over one or two loop-start phone lines using Contact ID.
What batteries fit inside the cabinet?
Two 10 amp-hour sealed lead acid batteries fit inside the FX-64 cabinet. If the standby calculation needs more, use an external Kidde battery cabinet.
Can the panel be flush mounted?
Yes. Order the SA-TRIM1 flush mount trim, in black, separately.
