The Kidde Genesis LED EG1 horn-strobe puts audible and visual notification on the wall in a compact, low-profile package that protrudes about an inch from the mounting surface. This ALERT-marked model with amber lens is built for non-fire alerting applications where visual differentiation from standard fire alarm devices matters - mass notification, weather alerts, or facility-specific signaling.

Built for the commercial installer

The EG1 mounts to a standard 1-gang box with no trim ring required, keeping the install fast and the finished look clean. Optional EG1TW trim rings cover oversized openings on 2-gang and 4-inch square boxes. Operating on 16-33 VDC or VFWR, it drops onto existing NAC circuits without rework. LED technology draws less current than legacy Xenon strobes and allows smaller wire gauge (12-18 AWG), reducing conduit requirements on new runs. EG1 LED devices are backwards compatible - mix them with existing Xenon-based Genesis strobes on the same circuit without sync issues.

Does the Genesis LED EG1 work with my existing NAC circuit?
Yes. The EG1 operates on 16-33 VDC or VFWR and is backwards compatible with legacy Xenon-based Genesis strobes. LED and Xenon devices can share the same NAC circuit with no sync issues.
How do I change the candela or horn setting in the field?
Remove the cover and slide the switches to the desired candela (15, 30, or 75 cd) and horn (high/low dB, constant/temporal) settings. The device stays on the wall. Settings are visible through a window on the left side after the cover is replaced.
What electrical boxes does this fit?
Standard 1-gang, 2-gang, 4-inch octagon, and 4-inch square boxes. Boxes must be at least 1-1/2 in. deep. Use the optional EG1TW trim ring (white) for boxes wider than 3 inches.
Can I mix LED and Xenon Genesis strobes on the same circuit?
Yes. EG1 LED strobes are backwards compatible and can be mixed with legacy Xenon-based Genesis strobes on the same NAC circuit without additional hardware or configuration.
