SKU:
KD-G1WA-VMA

The Kidde Genesis LED EG1 wall strobe delivers visible mass notification on existing NAC circuits without dedicated wiring runs. Field-selectable 15, 30, or 75 candela output covers a range of room sizes from a single compact appliance, and the amber lens with ALERT marking distinguishes mass notification signals from fire alarm signals at a glance.

Built for the commercial installer

The EG1 mounts to standard 4" square, single-gang, or double-gang boxes with no special hardware. LED technology means no replacement bulbs and consistent flash output across the listed 16-33V DC operating range. Synchronization is built in - units on the same NAC circuit flash in unison using the Genesis signal protocol, no external sync modules required for basic installations. UL 1971 and ULC-S526 listed for strobe applications.

Key features

  • Field-selectable candela: 15, 30, or 75 cd - set at install, no re-ordering for different room coverage
  • Amber lens with ALERT marking: distinguishes mass notification from fire alarm per code requirements
  • Standard box mounting: fits 4" square, single-gang, and double-gang boxes
  • Built-in synchronization: Genesis signal protocol keeps all strobes on the circuit in lockstep
  • LED strobe technology: no bulb replacements, consistent output over the full rated voltage range
  • Compact wall mount design: low-profile housing minimizes visual impact in finished spaces

System requirements

Connects to any supervised 16-33V DC NAC circuit (regulated or filtered wave rectified). Wire gauge 12-18 AWG. For synchronized operation, all devices on the circuit must use the Genesis signal protocol or a compatible sync module (SM-120R, SM-12/24, GSA-SD).

Does this strobe work on existing fire alarm NAC circuits?
Yes. The G1WA-VMA connects to any supervised 16-33V DC NAC circuit, regulated or filtered wave rectified. It draws from the existing notification appliance circuit - no dedicated power supply needed.
What candela setting should I use?
The EG1 wall strobe is field-selectable at 15, 30, or 75 cd. Select based on room size and AHJ requirements per NFPA 72 spacing tables. The setting is changed at the device - no need to re-order a different model.
Do I need a sync module for multiple strobes on the same circuit?
Genesis signal protocol is built into every EG1 device. Strobes on the same NAC circuit synchronize automatically. Sync modules (SM-120R, SM-12/24, GSA-SD) only needed when mixing with non-Genesis appliances.
Is this strobe rated for outdoor use?
No. The EG1 series is rated for indoor use only (32°F to 120°F, 0-93% RH non-condensing). For outdoor applications, see the Kidde Genesis Outdoor Strobes line.
What is the difference between ALERT and FIRE markings?
ALERT-marked strobes are for mass notification and general signaling. FIRE-marked strobes are for fire alarm notification. The amber lens further distinguishes this model from standard fire alarm strobes, which typically use clear or red lenses.
