SKU:
KD-GCVWA-A

The Genesis GCVWA-A is a mass notification and emergency communications (ECS/MNS) ceiling strobe built for commercial applications that need visual differentiation from standard fire alarm signals. The amber lens and ALERT marking distinguish mass notification alerts from life safety strobes at a glance, keeping occupants and first responders aligned during multi-signal events.

Built for the commercial installer

Genesis ceiling strobes mount flush to any standard North American 4" square electrical box (2-1/8" deep) with no extension ring or trim plate required. The low-profile housing protrudes just 1.6" from the ceiling with concealed mounting screws that blend with any ceiling finish. Field wiring terminals accept #18 to #12 AWG conductors for clean integration into existing NAC runs. UL 1638, CAN/ULC-S526, and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 205 listed.

Key features

  • Field-configurable candela output: select 13, 26, 65, or 82 cd without removing the device from the ceiling
  • FullLight strobe technology: delivers smooth, even light distribution that exceeds UL 1971 and ULC-S526 requirements
  • 30% slimmer profile than comparable signals - protrudes only 1.6" from the ceiling
  • Amber lens with ALERT marking for clear visual separation between ECS/MNS and fire alarm signals
  • Synchronization support: meets UL requirements when paired with a Genesis Signal Master (G1M-RM) or compatible sync source
  • Low current draw minimizes NAC circuit loading, supporting more devices per circuit

System requirements

Operates on regulated 16-33 Vdc or unfiltered 16-33 Vdc FWR from a listed fire alarm control panel or NAC power supply. Synchronization requires a Genesis Signal Master (G1M-RM) or compatible source (SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, SIGA-MCC2A, BPS6A, BPS10A, APS6A, APS10A, iO Series, or Fireshield Plus).

What is an ECS/MNS strobe and how does it differ from a fire alarm strobe?
ECS/MNS strobes use amber or blue lenses with ALERT markings to visually separate mass notification signals from fire alarm strobes, helping occupants and first responders distinguish fire from non-fire emergencies.
Can I change the candela output after installation?
Yes. The Genesis ceiling strobe is field-configurable. Open the device, slide the candela switch to the desired setting (13, 26, 65, or 82 cd for amber lens models), and close. No need to remove the device from the mounting box.
What synchronization source does this strobe require?
Compatible with the Genesis Signal Master (G1M-RM), SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, SIGA-MCC2A, and select NAC power supplies (BPS6A, BPS10A, APS6A, APS10A). Also works with iO Series and Fireshield Plus panels.
Does this strobe fit a standard 4-inch electrical box?
Yes. Mounts flush to any North American 4" square electrical box, 2-1/8" deep. No extension ring or trim plate required. Concealed mounting screws for a clean ceiling finish.
Is this model FM approved?
No. ECS/MNS models are not FM approved. Life safety (FIRE-marked) Genesis ceiling strobes carry FM approval. This model is UL 1638, ULC-S526, and CSA-C22.2 No. 205 listed.
