The Kidde Genesis GCWA-VMHC is a ceiling-mount strobe built for emergency communication and mass notification systems. Four field-selectable candela settings (95, 115, 150, or 177 cd) let you match output to the application without stocking multiple SKUs or swapping devices after installation.
Built for the commercial fire installer
Genesis ceiling strobes mount flush to any standard North American 4" square electrical box with no extension ring and no visible mounting screws. At just 1.6" off the ceiling, the low-profile housing stays out of the way in finished spaces while exceeding UL 1971 and ULC S526 light distribution requirements. Listed to UL 1971 and UL 1638, with CSFM, MEA, and FM approvals.
Key features
- Field-selectable candela output: switch between 95, 115, 150, and 177 cd without removing the device from the ceiling
- FullLight strobe technology: smooth, even light distribution across the full coverage area - no hot spots or dead zones
- Low-profile design: 6.8" diameter, protrudes just 1.6" from the ceiling surface
- ECS/MNS rated: ALERT marking and clear lens differentiate mass notification signals from FIRE-marked life safety devices in the same building
- Simple wiring: #18 to #12 AWG screw terminals, single pair daisy-chain
- Synchronization ready: exceeds UL 1971 sync requirements when paired with a Genesis Signal Master or compatible sync source
System requirements
Requires a listed fire alarm control panel or notification appliance circuit providing regulated 16-33 Vdc or 16-33 Vfwr. Compatible synchronization sources include the SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, SIGA-MCC2A, G1M-RM, BPS6A, BPS10A, APS6A, APS10A, iO Series, and Fireshield Plus 3, 5, and 10 zone panels.
