The Kidde Genesis GCWA-VMA is a ceiling-mount ECS/MNS strobe designed for mass notification and emergency communications applications where visual differentiation from life safety signals is required. The amber lens with ALERT markings separates it from standard fire alarm strobes at a glance, giving installers a clean way to meet dual-signaling requirements on a single notification circuit architecture.
Built for the commercial installer
Genesis ceiling strobes mount flush to any standard North American 4" square electrical box (2-1/8" deep) with no extension ring or trim plate required. The low-profile design protrudes just 1.0" from the ceiling with no visible mounting screws. Field wiring terminals accept #18 to #12 AWG, making it practical for long NAC runs or retrofit into existing wiring. Candela output is field-configurable without removing the device - unlatch, slide the switch, and the setting stays visible through a window on the face after the cover is closed.
Key features
- FullLight strobe technology: even light distribution across the entire coverage area, exceeding UL 1638 and ULC-S526 requirements
- Field-configurable candela output: selectable A/B/C/D settings (82/65/26/13 cd amber) without removing the device from the box
- Low-profile ceiling mount: 30% slimmer than comparable signals, 6.8" diameter, no visible mounting screws
- Standard 4" box compatible: flush mount with room behind for extra wire, no extension ring needed
- Synchronization ready: meets synchronization requirements with Genesis Signal Master (G1M) or compatible sync modules
- UL 1638 listed as a protective visual signaling appliance for ECS/MNS applications
System requirements
Operates on regulated 16-33 Vdc or 16-33 Vfwr from a listed fire alarm control panel or notification appliance circuit. Synchronization with other Genesis strobes in the same field of view requires a G1M Genesis Signal Master or compatible synchronization source (SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, SIGA-MCC2A, or G1M-RM).
