The KI-HRD is an addressable rate-of-rise heat detector for the Kidde Intelligent Series, combining a 135°F fixed-temperature threshold with a 15°F-per-minute rate-of-rise function for faster response to rapidly developing fires.

The rate-of-rise element catches fast-flaming fires that a fixed-temperature-only detector would miss until the room fully heats up, while the fixed-temperature backstop still trips in a slow, steady heat rise. A twist-and-lock head speeds installation and service, and on-board self-diagnostics store test history for reporting.

How is the KI-HRD different from the KI-HFD?
The KI-HRD adds a 15ĆĀ°F/min rate-of-rise element on top of the same 135ĆĀ°F fixed-temperature threshold, so it also catches fast-developing fires before the room reaches full alarm temperature.
What base does the KI-HRD require?
Any B4U-family base: B4U standard, RB4U relay, IB4U isolator, or SB4U audible. The detector shares the base's address, so no extra address is used.
